Grandma WAS Afraid Of Dogs Until…

BSR says...

My mother was afraid of any animal with teeth. So we never had a pet as kids.

Later in life I took a job traveling to malls with pet stores around the country taking portrait photos of pets, mostly cats and dogs. Out of the ordinary I photographed a Goldfish, a three month old cougar, two snakes, a sheep and a mouse.

I had only got one animal that tried to attack me. A guy in jumpsuit brought his medium but very muscular and VERY hyper pitbull. It wasn't big but it looked dangerous. I got the owner to sit him on the floor and stay after a few tries.

I got only one shot. Normally I would take about eight shots in different positions. When I triggered the camera the three flash units startled the dog and he went right for me. Luckley the owner was ready for it and quickly grabbed the dogs' collar and stopped him just in time.

At the end of the shoot the only poop I had to clean up was my own and unlike my mother I only fear muscular pitbulls.

Mystery Science Theater 3000 - You Think You Know TV?

Wait, did they only do one live show? I got to go because a friend won a 4-pack of tickets by calling into a radio contest while he was grounded. Best grounding ever! Had no idea that was a one-off. One fact I learned at the show: Joel's jumpsuit had the bottom parts of the legs cut off when they were damaged in a fire, so while you never see it, he's always in shorts.

Bernie's New Ad. This is powerful stuff for the Heartland

bobknight33 says...

Most of the audience looks like young kids who have yet to really know what life is really about - and it is not Socialism.

The rest of the audience look like left over hippies from Bernie era - still hoping for HOPE and CHANGE. guess they did not find it on Obama.

Bernie's ideas, like ISLAM are not compatible with the Constitution.

With Hillary getting ready for perp walk in her new orange jumpsuit Joe Biden better start getting his crew together.

SNL - Hillary Clinton Bar Talk

I believe she will have to drop out of the presidential race due to her made made email scandal, which if Republicans get the election she will end up in jail and hence the orange jumpsuit. If Democrats get the office they they will do nothing and let her get away with her crime.

The War on Drugs in America is NOT about Drugs

@ObsidianStorm, @UsesProzac: Both good points.

@Stormsinger: I strongly agree with this. I have a friend who is a federal CO and we talk about this now and then. It seems most of the COs he works with are of the opinion that the purpose of prison is to beat the fuck out of anyone in a jumpsuit as often as possible. Mind you, a lot of the prisoners are there for child murder and molestation and there may be no saving them, but I do believe that should always be the goal, however unattainable.

@ChaosEngine: This amuses me as well, but don't stop at drug law. The party of "small government" is the same one who says government should decide who can get married.

@dystopianfuturetoday: I think nearly everyone would describe themselves this way but everyone thinks "just right" is a different mix.

Into the mind of a real-life superhero

Stormsinger says...

Yep, I'd say I missed your tone completely. Usually, it seem that when someone gets started talking about "superheros" (as opposed to "comic books"), they're a fan of the genre, and hold that superheros are a good thing. I (and apparently you) tend to disagree with that stance. LOL>> ^Trancecoach:

uh, that's what I'm saying. I think you missed my tone, which is difficult to convey online.
If you took pretty much any straight-up "super hero" and put them in a real world context, not only would they appear to be a weird-o in a lycra jumpsuit, but they'd be considered fascist in their unilateral form of "crime-fighting" which places them in the position of policeman, judge, jury, and executioner...>> ^Stormsinger:
>> ^Trancecoach:
and this is different from a superhero..... how?>> ^Stormsinger:
Best case, he's a fucking loon. If he's not, he's far worse... Vigilantes are scum, bypassing all due process, proclaiming themselves judge, jury and executioner without anyone's consent.

The difference is pretty simple. Superheros exist only in comic books dealing with fictional people...this guy is in the real world dealing with real people.
I accept a lot of premises and actions in fiction that I would never accept in real life.

Santorum: Obama a Snob: He Wants Your Kids to go to College

quantumushroom says...

My cards on the table: I think Obama is a horrible leader, one of the worst I've ever seen in elected office. I thought he had great vision before, and I liked his early actions in the Middle East, but he seems to lack the balls to do anything decisive. Even if he made strong decisions that I disagreed with I'd respect him more than I do. On that count, Bush was better.

>>> You think Obama failed because he wasn't liberal enough, is that correct? I saw no vision, just a clever media-protected imago who freely admitted he acted as a mirror or canvas for everyone to project their ideas onto him. Middle East failures are no surprise. He's an appeaser, his offered olive branch to the turbaned vermin was predictably shoved up his you-know-where.

What good would the Keystone Pipeline do the US? All it does is remove oil from the States to sell abroad. How could this possibly be a good thing?

>>> It would do more good than fake solar companies. Special thanks to the current idiot Energy Secretary for admitting out loud what the rest of us already knew.

Assuming "scamulous" means "stimulus", then yes, of course it failed. Nothing would have succeeded.

>>> Where were you with this warning before the scamulus began (and yes, Bush conceived it but Obama supercharged it).

And if he hadn't given a stimulus package, the Republicans would have jumped down his throat for doing nothing.

>>> Back to leadership: a real leader can take it. FDR's scamulus was also a failure and revisionist history hides its lack of effectiveness, but at least FDR said of his enemies, "I welcome their hatred."

But per your last comment, "the guy in charge at the time the fit hits the shan gets the blame", so you accept then that the entire worldwide financial crisis is Bush's fault anyway. Deal.

It's a tad more complicated than that. Bush Hatred was a daily staple of the libmedia diet and people were naturally disenchanted with negative-only libmedia reporting on the wars. I'm not sure if Bush got the lion's share of the blame for the Follies of '08...he does deserve blame for the initial scamuli, as well as acting like a liberal with a few conservative tendencies.

The seeds of the banking crisis were sowed by government ineptitude and corruption. Few people take huge risks with their own money, so when a socialist government funds a "Free Houses for Poor People Who Can't Afford Them Act" program and promises banks "risk-free" support of loans and investments to do so, people act accordingly.

Europe has European socialism to blame for its follies. Someone's gotta pay for all that free honey, and when there are more freeloaders than worker bees the hive collapses.

May the majority of bewildered voters not be so readily fooled this year, even if it means electing a stiff like Romney. Welcome back stability after His Earness and his planned chaos. And Barney Frank belongs in an orange jumpsuit for his role in the financial crises.

Barney Frank scolds media for lack of substance-to her face

Get a good look Occupoopers, here's one of the thieving sacks who raped you (well, the taxpayers among you) all night long. If there were any justice he'd be in an orange prison jumpsuit for his role in the Free Houses for Poor People Who Won't Pay Back the Loans Act housing collapse. Don't worry, he's already collected millions from Fannie's corpse his actions created.
