Cheesy Anti-Union Video All Target Employees Must Endure
Okay, you want to take it to the next hyperbolic stage? How about a more appropriate comparison that is on your level?
If I put a gun to your head, and say, "Rape your own children or I'll kill you," then by golly I wonder what you would do.
If you come across me dying of thirst in the desert, and you say "I'll rescue you, as long as you give me your house," I would say "Fuck yeah! Why the fuck did I end up in this stupid desert (Job) to begin with!"
I say those are all bullshit examples you shot back--and that my responses are just as bullshitty. But that aside, this is more a societal problem than an individual problem. Because everyone clings desperately to the meager jobs that corporations dangle in front of us with like carrots...

Forced is a misrepresentation too. Not to focus on the small, but you are not forced to work for Target, so therefore you are not forced to watch this.
If I put a gun to your head, and say "sing me a lullabye, or I'll kill you," I'm not forcing you to do anything, you have a choice.
If I come across you dying of thirst in the desert, and I say "I'll rescue you, as long as you give me your house," I'm not forcing you to do anything, you have a choice.
If I say "watch this video or you're fired", I'm not forcing you to do anything, you have a choice.
I say all of those statements are false, and for the same reason. Coercion is being applied every time. The last one is certainly the least intense form, but it's coercion just the same.
And when unemployment is at its worst in most people's lifetimes, there's not a real big difference between the 2nd and 3rd scenarios, especially for people who were making their living working at Target when times were good.
Killing Us Softly: Advertising's Image of Women
This is all bullshit. If you want to empower women, don't treat them like victims of society -- treat them like they're adults capable of making their own choices in life and are responsible for their own happiness.
Here's a local "news" "report"-really, it's not a commercial
Do kids even drink water anymore? Did King 5 news find truffles that far up Coke's butt?

Looks like "Energy in Depth" is another bullshit oil industry front group.
http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Energy_in_Depth
Energy in Depth (EID) is a pro-oil-and-gas drilling industry front group formed by the American Petroleum Institute, the Petroleum Association of America and dozens of additional industry organizations for the purpose of denouncing legislation proposed by Colorado U.S. Rep. Diana DeGette to regulate underground hydraulic fracturing fluids. Hydraulic fracturing of underground geological formations, commonly called "fracking," was invented by the Halliburton Company. It is done to increase the amounts of oil and gas that can be extracted from existing wells. [1]
Energy in Depth denounces DeGette's proposed fracking legislation as an “unnecessary financial burden on a single small-business industry, American oil and natural gas producers.” In June, 2009, Energy in Depth started a multimillion dollar lobbying and public relations campaign aimed at derailing public health legislation that would require the disclosure of the chemicals used in fracking fluids. In addition to a Web site, EID's campaign includes a Twitter feed, a Facebook group, a YouTube channel and an aggressive advertising campaign. [1]
Energy in Depth trumpets the economic contribution oil and gas drilling makes, and the numbers of people employed by the industry.

I know this is all bullshit because T. Boone Pickens was on the Daily Show and he assured me that no water well has ever been contaminated by fracking. He wouldn't lie would he?
And neither would Lee Fuller, executive director of Energy in Depth, who has told the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences that a litany of errors in the anti-drilling film should render it ineligible for the Oscar for best documentary feature.

Besides, it is good that North Americans are once again getting a small taste of what many petro-states have have to endure over the decades to fuel a lifestyle of excess.

Ricky Gervais must have gone off prompter on this one

Since I don't read as many gossip columns as you apparently do I don't really know what you're going on about. I was referring to the actual reaction of Tim Allen during the actual ceremony :

Which was actually an act... geeze people, these are awards for ACTORS they can sometimes pretend you know.

Absolutely amazing joke.
What is great about it too is that Mel Gibson is a good sport about it (unlike say Tim Allen this year), as you can see here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6AxyQXVUJc#t=1m40s
Tim Allen was a good sport too... Ricky, Tim and Tom had drinks after the show, it's all a friggen beat up by 'journalists' trying to create drama where there isn't any.
NO ONE was really offended (except perhaps scientologists, they suck at taking jokes), everyone took them as they were intended, in good humour.

"Money For Nothing" Deemed Offensive on Canadadian Radio
This is sort of being blown out of proportion, yes. Lots of places use "radio edits" where words people crap their pants over are just silenced. It's not a new phenomenon, but I guess it's new in Canada, eh?
Now, I don't mean to say that this is a good idea, just that it's been around for a while.
"Standards and Practices" is all bullshit.
>> ^Payback:
Oh PULEEASE! It's deemed offense for PUBLIC AIRPLAY. No one is out confiscating fucking CDs. The use of the word IS pejorative, by the way. He's using it as a demeaning term.
This makes me howl. Down in the States, the clean versions used for YEARS. You want to know what I think is ridiculous censorship? Getting rid of "Nigger Jim" out of Huckleberry Finn. Discuss THAT, not this non-issue.
Beck proves he's a hardcore hipster - "Elevator Music"
@robv Yeah and when he says that the stuff people conjure up about scientology is all bullshit he's telling you that from a celebrity's viewpoint. I doubt the soul-sucking is cranked up for the celebs the same way it is for some poor schmuck they bring in off the street.
200 Countries, 200 Years, in 4 Minutes
Things are getting better for humans. Humans for the win! (as long as we don't fuck up all the other living things in the process) But we still rule!!!! YaY!!! >> ^EMPIRE:
Not only are his techniques to show data very interesting, they are also very uplifting, because the statistics don't really lie, and the world HAS improved a great deal over the last 200 years, even with horrible things in its path like WW1 and 2, and the influenza, and ethnic cleansing. So there is really no reason to think the evolution won't continue.
Yet, people still say stupid things like: "oh it's the end of days", and "oh... the world has changed for the worst", or "things were much better when I was younger".. That is all BULLSHIT, and product of lack of perspective, that most humans seem to suffer from.

Show me ANYWHERE in that video where a single person or card has ever read 4chan or even know what anonymous is.. It's all bullshit. Anons wouldn't put their name on a card or pose for a photo.
You, sir, seem to be an extremely angry person. (a.k.a. UMAD.jpg?)
Anonymous shows its loving side.
