Not an assumption, you said it clearly. YOU said he could have gone from one neighborhood to another in 15+min, so it's reasonable to 'detain' him. That MUST mean it's reasonable to detain ANY black man within a 15 minute radius (by car, no one told them he didn't have a car). That's just stupidly insane...it makes ALL black men in a 30 mile diameter 'suspects'. (which seems to be how you see them).

If you get a call to look for a male black, about a 'crime' that may have happened some time ago, it's rather pointless period. There's no way in hell you could find the right person with that description unless there's still one male black AT THE SCENE of the crime you are investigating, and even then that person could easily be a witness. "male black" is not enough description to make it OK for cops to accost citizens. PERIOD. Just as "male white" would not be.
I would say YOU seem far more clueless than I. You have a myopic viewpoint where cops are ALWAYS in the right, citizens are ALWAYS in the wrong, and black people are ALWAYS suspect and dangerous.

Cops don't care what color you are. But if you listen to any (moderate size town) police band, you'll find that the majority of calls for criminal investigation feature young male african-americans.

I disagree with the fake phone vibrating being strictly mental re-wiring, or an itch from somewhere else being misinterpreted (by mental re-wiring). I get the fake vibrating ring all the time, whether or not I have my phone in my pocket, but it always feels like it comes from the same area where my phone usually is.

Being an engineer, I have always thought that the high intensity electro-magnetic field generated during a phone's ring has somehow damaged the nerves/muscles in the area closest to the phone. And since electrical impulses control muscle movement and the nervous system, they are a little screwed up (damaged?). Or they get stuck on repeat.

You see, I don't get too many calls, I don't answer my phone every time, I could care less if it rings or not, so why would my brain be re-wired to desire my phone to ring, creating phantom rings? It seems to usually happen when those muscles are in use (not just sitting down).

At least there's no problem milking him for his itch venom.

I think there is a meaningful difference between her and the examples you expanded on. Some fella with low hanging pants isn't trying to look low class. Somebody with tats isn't trying to look like a future fashion victim. A girl that dresses up sexy is usually trying to look sexy. There are a few that pretty much can't help it.

Imagine someone with has a bunch of tats of a band that you like. You can approach him about that, directly, out of the blue, and probably not get a negative response. You could even just holler from across the road, and it's just dandy.

Something makes it unacceptable to acknowledge that the girl did a great job of looking sexy.

For open wheel racing, Indycar is where it's at these days IMO. Since they changed to the DW-12 chassis, lost the stupid blocking rules and brought in some new talent and sponsors, the racing has been fantastic. Unfortunately, I don't care for oval racing, but it looks like its weighing even more towards road and street courses next year.

I wouldn't want F1 to become a spec series, but they need to do something to either make the racing closer or the technology development more interesting. The WEC has been the most interesting development series lately. It's guaranteed that Mercedes, Ferrari and Renault would never allow it, but opening up the engine regulations to allow more freedom could bring in other manufacturers itching to show off their hybrid technology as something sexy and powerful.

Mark me now, it's not ISIS that we should be worried about in this from a humanitarian perspective. ISIS are probably the nastiest bunch, but Nouri al-Maliki has been noted and marked as nothing more than thug from day one. The entire time US forces were in Iraq they spent most of their time protecting Sunni's(ISIS is a Sunni group) from al-Maliki's forces taking revenge.

I have almost no doubts that al-Maliki can easily suppress and crush ISIS, and more over is just itching for ISIS to make themselves out bad enough that he can 'justify' brutally and totally crushing them and by proxy all Sunni Iraqis.

End game is a relatively quick and brutal move by al-Maliki to 'stabilize' the region with some truly ugly war crimes. Hopefully at least the end will also leave a new border drawn recognizing Kurdistan as separate region and at least there some semblance of law and order and decency might survive,

Thank you @shinyblurry for the contribution. Even if I disagree on the basic message, it was interesting input that this discussion was IMO lacking so far. Now somebody's might post something dismissive now (I have to admit, asshole that I am, my fingers are actually itching in way trolls know too well) but I found that worth reading. Which brings me back to the point Mitchell made.
The issue is dialogue and how disruptive the selfrighteousness of those who found their definitive answer can be. We can argue semantics even further than already done here but it doesn't matter how gnostic or theistic one is. There is a silent majority consisting of various levels of belief and disbelief and at the fringes of both sides people tend to get loud, sometimes unbearably so.
What the screaming people at the edge like to do is to get bogged down into dogmas and discussions of detail but in the end both kind of extremists would like to force their worldviews on everyone else. I think it is certainly not acceptable to insist that people seeking solace in religion must be idiots who don't know how the world works. If a woman who just lost her child wants to tell herself that this is part of gods plan then I have no right to walk up to her and tell her she's full of shit. Even though I know this to be true. We all live in a world we're poorly equipped to understand and have to make sense of it somehow.
The problem starts once you force yourself onto somebody. The point I made before is that one side's extremists is assholes who walk up to grieving women and tell them their full of shit, the other side is people executing that woman for praying to the wrong god. It's easy for me to pick a side here.
However, most people aren't that extreme. Most people are more civil than that and I believe/know that a more civil and understanding approach is better. It necessary to push back against those who are harmful in executing their beliefs, be it Osama Bin Laden or Rick Santorum (Santorum he he) but everyone else is better dealt with in a respectful manner. Antagonism doesn't feed dialogue well.
That is why I resisted my urge to make fun of the deeply religious guy posting here. I really wanted to because I disagree with his worldview so strongly but all he did was stating his journey to where he now in his life and on top of that, he did it without telling anybody else here off. I would be the asshole if I would react like a Hitchens. I'd rather behave like a Tyson (not the rapey one). LIke most humans, I want to be one of the good guys. It's just not that easy to figure out how to be one.
In the end it all boils down to this (and several posts in this thread truly showed it): Why can't we be friends? Why can't we get along?

I used to get lots of swelling and extreme itch from a normal mosquito bite, but after living in Thailand for 7 years and getting much more frequent exposure (read: I get bit a lot more here than I did in near-desert Kansas, which isn't that surprising), my reactions to mosquito bites seem to be a lot smaller than they used to be.

Do we develop a tolerance/lessening in allergic reactions to mosquito saliva with frequent exposure?
