Dallas Officials Report On Shooting Of 11 Officers By Sniper

newtboy says...

And instantly the right wing starts doubling and tripling down on armed violence rather than any attempt to de-escalate. It seems at least some of them are just itching for a race war.

NOTE: So far this year, police have killed 608 citizens, and 26 officers have been killed on duty. (http://killedbypolice.net/) That means it's nearly 30 times more likely that an officer will kill a citizen than it is that a citizen will kill an officer, yet cops claim THEY have the most dangerous job?!? They aren't even in the top 10 most dangerous jobs, and are INCREDIBLY more safe than those they have contact with.

Side note: All night the media/police have said clearly that the one dead attacker in Dallas was killed by a self inflicted gun shot wound....but the truth is he was killed by an explosive attached to a police robot....a mechanical suicide bomb. Why did they lie about it all night? They clearly knew it was a bold faced lie.

"The emails, reviewed by The Associated Press, show that State Department technical staff disabled software on their systems intended to block phishing emails that could deliver dangerous viruses. They were trying urgently to resolve delivery problems with emails sent from Clinton's private server."

Wut?

Remember how they prosecuted Aaron Swartz for violation of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act?

Clinton's minions had State Dep. IT turn off security features so they could debug connection issues to the server in her basement? That's... that's just...

This two-tiered justice system makes my sphincter itch.

Woman Accuses White Male of Stealing Her Cultural Hairstyle

newtboy says...

Oh yeah, I'm well aware that defending yourself can easily turn into a scene from a 70's kung fu movie with multiple attackers going after you for defending yourself...no matter how out of control the female attacker may be. There are many dumb, sexist douchebags out there just itching for a fight. My point is, there's absolutely no legitimate reason you can't defend yourself against a woman who's attacking you physically....idiot douchebags don't count as 'legitimate reasons' to me, but I don't disagree they're a consideration. EDIT: That said...I don't think black Rick Astley there would give me much pause.

My brother knows even better than I, he was attacked by a random angry drunk girl on the street in Austin, she threw her drink on him and sucker punched him in the face out of nowhere, over nothing (according to him), he slapped her, and woke up 5 minutes later face down on the sidewalk with a missing tooth and a broken motorcycle helmet, some 'bro' (read 'brah') sucker punched him in the back of the head and beat him with his own helmet, then probably went home to rape the drunk girl.

That said...if a woman wants to act like her sex isn't an issue and start a physical confrontation with someone much larger, they deserve the debilitating beat down they get and their sex and/or size should not be an issue. That's the logical outcome of believing in equality of the sexes in the eyes of the law.

Might wanna scan the horizon first for the kind of people who'd jump you for hitting a woman, even if she were stabbing you in the side and stealing your kidneys in broad daylight.

Judge Dead, 2016 (RIP(?) Antonin Scalia dead at 79)

newtboy says...

Sadly, I expect the Republicans will agree with Cruz and block ANY nominee Obama puts forth in the hope that they will retain control of the legislative, and grasp control of both the executive and judicial in one stroke.
His passing (and likely not being replaced) should have every single American itching to get to the voting booth. This election just got even MORE consequential for the direction our country goes from here...and I didn't think that was possible.

Women, minorities, individual voters, and those who like drinkable water and breathable air should all rejoice. This single man has held our country back from advancements (social, political, or ecological) more than any other individual person in history. He's the one responsible for the legal concept of 'corporate personhood' and passing 'citizens united' which took our broken political system and repeatedly smashed it in the teeth with a sledgehammer.
Good riddance in my opinion, I'm not the least bit sad about his death, but I am a bit worried what might happen from here.
*promote a possible glimmer of hope that our country might course correct now....it's a dim glimmer, but more 'light' than we've had for quite a while now.

Cruz has already tweeted that America owes it to Scalia for his replacement to be appointed by the next President. So I guess he'd rather have that appointment made by Bernie.

Star Wars Battlefront Gameplay Launch Trailer

SDGundamX says...

This is one of those games that I think you just kinda have to have in your collection if you're a gamer of a certain age. I think it will probably be fun for the first 20 hours or so (based on my beta experiences) and then most people will probably move on to other things... until they get that Star Wars itch again and come back for a couple of rounds.

As long as nothing is completely broken at launch, I don't see how they won't sell millions of this even if most people stop playing regularly after the first two months.

I did a few months ago, so I lowered my sugar consumption like from drinks. Doctors didn't say I have diabetes. However, they did say I have high blood pressures (family tree members have it and had to take daily tablets) and very low vitamin D (not an outdoor guy; taking pills and trying to go outside for at least 15 minutes per day). I have lots of allergies (itches, leaks, etc.) too.
