I have heard about it. I heard about this one instance where a viacom TV channel was showing a clip show of internet videos then came back and tried to get the original owner of one of the clips to take it off even though they "borrowed" it. Pretty messed up...

Tornado Forms in Front of Car

westy says...

Well the woman should not be so pathetic , with anny luck there will be a shift in reality and comments on internet videos will suddenly enact themselfs on people.

I would kill to be in this situatoin having a tornado form infront of you.

surely if you lived in anny place where these things happen you would research it to the piont you know what to do when it happens , i mean i live in shitty england where nothing happens but i know what to do / how safe dangerouse tornadoes are when u are neer them.

god forbid this woman was in a earth quake " IM GOING TO STAY INSIDE WHERE ITS SAFE "

what a stupid bitch ,
Id love for her to sit in the car and get cut up by all the glass and then raped by a tramp with aids.

Westy, there's a difference between between being funny and being a psychopath. You need to seek professional help. The audio of this frightened woman may be annoying to you, but blurting out that you wish she was raped or cut up is truly sick. If, while watching this, the joke that forms in your mind is "I wish she was raped" .. it's time to find a psychiatrist.

Should VideoSift Allow "Always On" Perpetual Video Streams? (User Poll by dag)

choggie says...

^well kreegath, verboten is verboten...no streams that the rest of the rules extant don't cover-
Sifting streams is what was done here to alert the users to the concept nad availability. Popularized by votes.-a seperate channel for streams only is an option we would perhaps benefit from-I would...One Stop Shopping.....Like WALMART.

Imagine the VS as a clearing house for all things internet video (minus the porn) and make it a go-to site for anyone interested in internet video....like ovguide is for streams and downloads. Cept the diffence is, no fear of virus or similar bullshit.

And for crissakes, advertising has become the work of the devil online-S'pecially for these catch-up operations the established network stations have added to try to keep up with dwindling ad-rev from YT-

I envision a world where everyone knows what they need w/o advertising, which would be relegated to what they may want....for extras-I imagine a world where everyone creates what they envision, but hey....gonna be awhile-gotta wake everyone up from the illusion first-

IS THIS POLL OVER YET!!!??

A possible idea to make *beg work better (Sift Talk Post)

choggie says...

Beggar's canyon would work if it were treated as fulfilling others desires over their own or according to some ambiguous framework whose original intent was to offer the best of the internet video offerings. When I go there, I consider first that users used earned points to beg it......they used the invocation because the vid spoke to them in a profound way-

Similarly, if people would take the time to visit the dead pool and earn points by fixing embeds, the number of dead vids would decrease rapidly AND you get points for the fix.

Try changing your titles over and over again...I have conducted the same experiment time and again, with predictable results. The tone, title, and tags are what monkeys respond to, seldom facts or fancy.

I find it amusing that so many people here who would try to distinguish their politics or world view over that of others they deem or label "conservative" or "deluded", look exactly like those they accuse with those convenient, meaningless labels....you all look alike to me.

Adobe Flash Coming Soon to the Google Android OS

yellowc says...

They need to stop holding on to the Flash does video thing, it is absolutely NOT critical to internet video, not in the slightest. When it becomes easier and standard to serve up videos in multiple formats, Flash for video will be entirely irrelevant.

They should focus their energy on games, since you know, upwards of 82million FarmVille users and who knows how many else playing other crap, will care.

Only in first world countries do people enjoy the luxury of struggling with the stupid moral dilemma of loving animals more than people. The 40+ billion spent every year, in this country alone, on sparky and captain whiskers could feed, clothe, and rehabilitate an awful lot of people.

Of course you could apply that same logic to almost anything, yes if we all stopped spending money on -Fill in unnecessary expense here- then that problem would be solved, sounds simple enough but in practice it gets more complicated.

only in first world countries do people worry about buying pets AT ALL. all that money could feed, clothe, and rehabilitate an awful lot of people.

only in first world countries do people worry about paying for cable television. all that money could feed, clothe, and rehabilitate an awful lot of people.

only in first world countries do people worry about buying more than one set of clothing to wear from day to day. all that money could feed, clothe, and rehabilitate an awful lot of people.

only in first world countries do people worry about spending time commenting on internet videos. that time could be spend raising money to feed, clothe, and rehabilitate an awful lot of people.

thanks for politicizing a video meant to be cute. asshole.

I could see that being a good system. But I'm too susceptible to crap. I was a TV addict. Crappy 70s sitcoms are my crack. Get me in front of a One Day at a Time marathon and I'm frozen for the next 8 hours. Internet video is like methodone- it gives me what I need, but lets me turn it off too.>> ^deathcow:
I use a DVR and look through a week of programming on about 100 HD channels. I pick out what I like, it records it for me. There's a lot of killer crap coming off the shatellites these days. I have a yellow button that skips all the commercials in about 3 seconds.

My crack was movies on the late late late or Saturday afternoon......i would get the TV guide to see all the movies for that week, and schedule accordingly-
And UltraMan and Kung Fu Action....And Gumby and Davy and Goliath or anything claymation.....that shit used to trip me the fuck OUT! And Mutual of Omaaha's Wild Kingdom, Python and the Goodies...

The iPad may run Flash - this isn't something that is known yet. But regardless, I use the mobile version of VideoSift on my iPhone all the time - YouTube works OK, though I would prefer a full-fledge version of Flash. HTML5 video is coming along pretty quickly too. I'm using it now for YouTube videos and it seems to work great.>> ^nafhan:
Don't usually comment here, but I just wanted to point out that most of the content on this site will be inaccessible from an iPad. I really think that will be the one thing that kills the deal for a lot of casual computer/internet users; people have grown to know and love internet video. Nice device, but I'm waiting until HTML5 becomes ubiquitous or the iPad gets Flash.
