Amazing Artist

>> ^mxxcon:

video was filmed by russians, but he's not. at 0:45 you can see his poster. I can't read it but it seems like Spanish.
And based on his dreadlocks and dark skin complexion, I'm thinking Caribbean or South America?
His t-shirt also has some website but can't read it because of his dreadlocks.

I cannot for the life of me remember where I saw this earlier, but I believe it's Santiago, Chile.

I agree the premise is humorous, for sure. The chicken/cult part was pretty funny, but I never laughed out loud, I might have smiled. It has something to do with the delivery. For the most part it just sort of bummed me out because I know it could be really funny and I really wanted to like it but instead feel it's sort of obnoxious. I wonder what pdx peeps feel about it? I felt bad for Buscemi & his role in one of the most excruciating parts, haha, only because I LOVE that guy!

BTW: I love this site, thank you!

Some of Portlandia is pretty funny. I loved the bit where they investigate the chicken's heritage.

Meant to reply to the post - but this will do!

It's strange that I just watched the first two episodes of Portlandia for the first time. Just finished a minute ago before I watched this. The beginning of this video made me laugh more than I laughed in all two 20 minute episodes of Portlandia. Not that this is funny, but the whole sustainable thing (which I agree with) and dreadlocks thing made me laugh at Portlandia's attempt at making fun of Oregon's culture. It was just a coincidence that made it humorous to me, but damn, that show sucks. I want to grow mushrooms!!

Child Abuse? Mother Forces 5-Year-Old to Wax Eyebrows

peggedbea says...

have you ever had your eyebrows waxed? shit fucking hurts. especially if you're 5 and don't understand why it's even happening.
not to mention the psychological message that shit sends to your developing 5 year old girl brain.

my daughters rocking a unibrow. i decided i'd tell her about waxing the day she cried because some jerks made fun of it and let her chose if she wanted to do it. thankfully, i've raised a bad ass secure little girl who who just thinks people who make fun of other people have either watched too much tv and are missing several heart and brain cells or have parents who are mean to them and other people. so when she gets made fun of she's just kind of like "....... really??".

i hope she stays that secure and never ever ever waxes that shit off.

also, i wonder what the emotional fortitude and personal security of a little girl who's been waxed and teased and permed and crammed in ridiculous outfits and forced to dance to be told she's beautiful, looks like.

Child Abuse? Mother Forces 5-Year-Old to Wax Eyebrows

GenjiKilpatrick says...

Normal people saw this and thought:
"What kind of mother would force a 5 year old to wax?"
"That girl is a person, not a barbie doll. Hmph."
"Omg.. the crazy mom is gonna traumatize and torture that girl like this for years. For something as superficial as beauty pageants no less. What a shame."

You saw that and thought:
"Psh. Fuckin' pansies. I hated getting a haircut when I was little too. Stupid false outrage. rabble rable."

And that.. is why you're a troll. [or just naturally a clueless jackass]
= P

the difference being, that cutting or braiding your hair, causes absolutely no physical discomfort. Waxing causes pain.

-So Sarah's in the lead is she? Well she could certainly use a turn on Dancing Your Ass Off. If you lost a few pounds maybe a man would be able to look at you without drinking his ass off first. And girl, lose those heavy nerd glasses, ever hear of laser surgery?

-What's up with that Peter Serafinowicz guy? 38 years old and dressed up like a gay 18 year old asian? You're an adult, dress like one! Where'd you get that fauxhawk? Are they giving free hair-gel down at the local glory hole, Nancy?

-And what's the deal with that Reg Hunter guy? A failed American comedian hiding out in the UK? Couldn't make it at home so he runs away to a foreign land where he'll be "accepted". Well they'll accept you just until the novelty wears off, buddy. Get a haircut, Dreadlocks are so 20th century.

"Racist" Australian KFC Commercial

mofodoobs says...

I just watched the ad again and it looks like they did cleverly sneak one white guy into shot (the racist bastards)so I guess, considering there are about 12 people in shot (plus the Aussie wanker) the ratio of 11 - 1 black West Indians to White West Indians is representitive of the Team actually touring at the moment.

From my point of view I find the shampoo ad where the dude with dreadlocks trys a shampoo which straightens his hair to be a more stereotypical view of West Indians (and more offensive) which should cause more outrage than the KFC one; but hey that's just me. If you find the image of a lazy, skankin' to regae, cooool dude (till he loses his dreads to a straighening shampoo) not a stereotype then maybe you're of a different mind to me.
