GOOD PEOPLE HELPING WOLF!!!!

newtboy says...

Ok, good for him…but who’s the dickhead that’s still using this type of trap that injures whatever random animal it catches?
People who “hunt” using these deadly traps should be forced to step on a full size bear trap themselves and be left staked in the wilderness if caught…turnabout is totally fair play!

I don’t have a problem with most hunting for food, I have a huge problem with trapping and injuring random animals and releasing the unwanted injured catch to suffer to death.

Trump to be arrested

newtboy says...

D’oh. Wrong again.
Biggest loser Trump’s favorability dropped to 25% and is still plummeting. Unfavorability rating is now over 60% and rising fast.

When they arrested Trump it made him less powerful and less popular than ever, showing him as a desperate fascist as he called to defund the police, defund the DOJ, suspend the constitution, arrest political enemies without charges, and insisted he should get to pick his judges, anything that lets him cling to power. FTFY

It’s turning out exactly like I predicted….again….and diametrically opposed to your prediction….like always. You NEVER fucking learn. You are incapable of learning.

Edit: Perhaps better-
If they throw out Jones they will make him more powerful and more popular than ever, showing up the Trump regime as desperate fascists willing to do anything to cling to power. Go ahead dickheads, toss out Jones and see how it turns out.

….turned out as a great long weekend for him that elevated his status from unknown to respected national political figure, gained him unanimous support in his district including from former opponents, and once again exposed Republicans as desperate thin skinned hypocritical anti democratic fascists.

MAGA is incapable of learning or self examination. That’s why you can’t understand that Trump is insanely unpopular and seen as a criminal totalitarian by the vast majority of America. Hilariously, the entire Republican Party is tied to him like a damsel on the train tracks, and when the election train comes it’s going to flatten you all. Never has there been a more deserving victim. I hope Trump was worth the next few election cycles for you.

Whenever I see one of these I immediately think “what a serious dickhead of a neighbor.”. I can’t imagine one in my neighborhood, making it a night street rave all October.

Since he seems to be far out in the country without neighbors, that’s less of an issue….but since he is neighborless who is this for? All just for the video?

Tesla is down 20 30% due to The economic forces not due to TESLA.
My current worry is a recession which will hurt all including Tesla stock price.. We can thank Democrat policies for steering us into this costly mess.

Tesla is expanding rapidly , Or as you indicate I am mistaken?

Lol…says the totally honest guy who still says “buy Tesla, it only plunged 20% so far this year” (when reality is it plunged 32% this year).
Says the guy who takes Elon’s word as gospel….no way he has incentive to exaggerate or lie about his success.
Says the guy who still thinks the semi truck is coming, and will revolutionize trucking (despite having 1/3 the cargo capacity and limited range).
The guy who said Tesla is expanding exponentially on the same day Elon announced a 10% reduction and that he’s burning through billions every week and can’t get anywhere near full production capacity, not even near profitability yet.
Says the guy who claims the Tesla truck will corner the market but doesn’t know it’s delayed indefinitely if not cancelled because it could never compete with Ford.

Says the guy who repeats every far right lie he hears.

Then he says don’t listen to professionals or sales numbers, get your information from Tesla fan boys online exclusively.

Then he says this new modular battery tech is old obsolete tech like a blackberry.

Tesla is far less likely to make it through the decade, they were the big fish in a puddle, now they’re a small fry in a little pond that just had the tide break through and now there are sharks in there with it.

I’m guessing you didn’t watch the whole thing.

For context (because I know I was curious): this video is from November 2017, 3 months after the "Unite the Right" rally in Charlottesville in which a neo-nazi dickhead ran over a peaceful protestor. Trump had stated that in the conflict between the peaceful anti-racism group and the white supremacist / neo-nazi group there had been "fine people on both sides". I get the impression some of the people at PBS weren't thrilled about that, and wanted to give the public a gentle reminder that it can, in fact, happen here.

Fascism is alive and has been thriving the last few years in the US. With any luck we'll soon defeat it, like we did 75 years ago.

Trump On Bullying Ford-"Doesn't Matter, We Won"

newtboy says...

Merrimack Garland was often right leaning and above reproach, and in your words, "his entire life was ruined" by dickheaded obstructionist republicans that wouldn't allow the unAmerican Muslim black activist to impact the supreme court if they could obstruct it, only they get to do that in their favor by any underhanded means necessary. Recall, they were proud of their pure obstructionist position from day one of Obama, pretty infantile to complain now that Trump doesn't get cooperation with his disastrous hyper partisan divisive plans and nominations.

Really, no republican argued against them? Sotomayor 68-31, Kagen 63-37, barely confirmed with 3 votes to spare, that's not no republican argument, and not confirmed with ease. You are such a blatant revisionist or so authoritatively ignorant it's astonishing and makes any discussion a chore, requiring I teach you actual history before replying to your always incorrect claims. Try googling before spouting more easily debunked nonsense, have some pride. Only trolls don't care that 98% of their claims are dead wrong and easily proven so.

bobknight33 said:

Merrick Garland was sidelined due to political blocking. Politics is mean and he lost. If it was a like for like (Sotomayor , Kagan) no one would argue and no Republican did. Republican let these go to the SCOTUS with ease.

Kavanaugh replaced a moderate ( Kennedy ), which tilts the supreme court to the right for once in a long time.

Next might be Ginsburg. At 85 and looking frail. A hard liberal stepping down and being replace by a moderate would make replacing Kavanaugh look G rated.

Replacing with a conservative would be an XXX storm by the left.

A Scary Time

Mordhaus says...

It isn't as rare as you think. There are numerous accounts of false accusations that don't make it as far as court or they do and the accused choose to take a plea versus chancing half their life.

Brent E. Turvey, a criminologist, wrote a 2017 book that dispels this notion. His research, and that of two co-authors, cited statistical studies and police crime reports. One academic study showed that as many as 40 percent of sexual assault charges are false. Mr. Turvey wrote that the FBI in the 1990s pegged the falsity rate at 8 percent for rape or attempted rape complaints.

“There is no shortage of politicians, victims’ advocates and news articles claiming that the nationwide false report for rape and sexual assault is almost nonexistent, presenting a figure of around 2 percent,” writes Mr. Turvey, who directs the Forensic Criminology Institute. “This figure is not only inaccurate, but also it has no basis in reality. Reporting it publicly as a valid frequency rate with any empirical basis is either scientifically negligent or fraudulent.”

A recent study supports this assessment. The Pentagon issues an annual report on sexual assaults in the military. Nearly one-quarter of all cases last year were thrown out for lack of evidence, according to a report released in May.

As far as the rape every 98 seconds, I am unsure where you found that number. There were 95,730 rapes under the revised FBI definitions (which include more categories that previously were not considered rape, like child molestion, under the legacy definitions) in the last year I could find which was 2016. These are the combined rapes of men, women, and children for that year. That means the actual rape of a 'person' is occurring somewhere around every 5-6 minutes. Now if you are going by a different statistic, like the CDC ones that include such a wide definition of what constitutes 'rape' that it isn't funny, you might get the result you quoted. I wouldn't go by those stats, even TIME magazine had to call out the CDC for overstating the numbers.

As far as Trump goes, he is a complete idiot dickhead. He shouldn't have insulted anyone, least of all Dr. Ford. I will point out one thing though, and this is subjective in that your viewpoint will differ from mine, Dr. Ford is an alleged rape survivor. She has made the claim and took a polygraph test, but other than that she can only claim that in her recollection she was at a party where Brett Kavanaugh was also at supposedly. She also claimed to be heavily intoxicated. If you want to believe her Ex, she has lied in her testimony. (https://heavy.com/news/2018/10/christine-ford-boyfriend-ex-letter-blasey/) Heavy leans left, so this isn't a bobknight cherry picking of information.

Now, why would she come forth and deal with all the negatives of making the claim? I guess that is the kicker, normally you would expect a person to really be telling the truth if they are going to be put through hell. I would put forward though that this was one of the most hotly contested confirmations for SCOTUS ever. Even more so than for Bork, and I remember that one clearly. In my opinion, far more than for Thomas. If you were adamantly opposed to a person sitting on the Supreme Court, had went to school with that person, and were willing to fall on your sword for your beliefs, you might do it.

In any case, that is just supposition on my part.

ChaosEngine said:

Regarding Perry and Counts: that was in 1991. Again it's terrible, but you can't really argue that we're suddenly "abandoning of proof and evidence".

Re Banks: That's undoubtedly terrible, but to me, that's far more of an indictment of the appalling state of the US justice system and the nightmare of the utterly broken plea bargain system (I think John Oliver did a report on it, and I'd also highly recommend listening to the current season of the Serial podcast). He chose to take the plea deal... he wasn't convicted.

I think it's also not a coincidence that all three victims are black. Juries are far more likely to convict black men... that's just a fact.

And again, these cases are notable because they're rare.

The point here is simple. Trump's "it's a scary time to be a man" line is complete and utter bullshit. There is no sudden epidemic of false rape allegations. Are people wrongly accused (and in some cases, even convicted) of rape? Undoubtedly.

But it's not a new problem and it's nowhere near as widespread as the right is making it out to be.

Meanwhile, in the USA someone is violated every 98 seconds, and the President mocked a sexual assault survivor.

One of these is a bigger problem than the other.

I agree there has been a F load of change in personnel. The real question is does this turnover occur in in business life?

If so then one could consider Trump as some kind of dickhead to work for .

If not then what is the reason for the difference?

I think there is much more going on behind the scenes. Why would one have a military General as your chief of staff?

With Obama's top level FBI as example --
Comey -- fired
McCabe- Fired
James Baker, general counsel -- Fired
James Rybicki Chief of staff -- Fired
Perter Strozk -- Fired
Lisa Page -- ???

If Hillary was elected not of their wrong doings would have come to light. All gunning to get Trump. Still that is just the FBI.

No wonder Trump is cleaning house so much. Some bad guys found? Some paranoia?
There isn't a day goes by without something big occurring.

There is still 3 big reports to come out.
Mullers findings.
The 2nd OIG report and Huber's findings

AG Jeff Sessions appointed John Huber will be the ‘top federal prosecutor’ who will be investigating FISA abuses . Huber's staff is over 400.

Also Guantanamo Bay, Cuba-- Expanding like mad...

$14 million to expand the prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. This is a "strategically critical time-sensitive expansion project". DOD justification states the "current trial support facilities are incapable of handling the large number of personnel .
https://insidedefense.com/insider/pentagon-expand-gitmo-after-trump-orders-it-remain-open

The place can hold some 2300 prisoners, currently Gitmo is currently holding 41 prisoners.. Also the 137th, 428th, and 514th was deployed this month to Gitmo for a year . Rotating people out - possible, but some 500 troops for 41 prisoners?

What is so time sensitive for to handle trial support facilities are incapable of handling the large number of personnel .-- Where are these people coming from? What is coming down the pike?

Like I said above:
I think there is much more going on behind the scenes. Why would one have a military General as your chief of staff?
