Buffalo Police Push 75 Year Old To The Concrete

newtboy says...

WTF?!?
The entire crowd control unit quit...but are all still employed as police?!?
So cops can now just refuse their assignments with no consequences?

Every single one who quit this assignment needs to be fired, and their past arrests need to be thoroughly investigated, since they ALL quit solely because their blatant lies weren't believed. This leads to the logical conclusion that they all routinely lie in their incident reports, hiding their violent assaults, claiming their victims "tripped and fell" while never speaking up against the officers who pushed them forcefully causing the trip and fall. Without this video the victim would be charged with obstruction if not assault on a police officer.
If the only evidence is a cop's word, there's less than zero evidence. They lie far more often than not.

Not a single 1/2 decent cop in the gang, they all tried to hide this, every single one of them. Toss them all for dereliction of duty and failure to report criminal violence. These are EXACTLY the kind of cops that need to go. Unfortunately, that's going to leave some departments completely empty.

Let's also be clear, some sparse instances of pleasantries and kindnesses performed on camera while outnumbered 4-1 in no way indicate their violent racist behavior off camera when they have control will change. Most departments have gone the other direction, widening the gap between us and them instead of bridging it. -Newtboy

Caught on video, people that's NOT black spray painting

newtboy says...

I've now seen videos of 6 people vandalizing using BLM #Floyd tags..all of them white, one doing it not just under the supervision of 3 police officers but at their direction, the other 5 stopped by protesters themselves.
It's sure starting to look like the mAga crowd is instigating the destruction and violence as a pretext towards villanizing and attacking non mAga citizens, especially black Latino and antifa citizens, with the help of police departments.

Cop Drives Man Over 100 Miles After Traffic Stop ...

newtboy says...

My gripe was, as a public servant, getting paid for a personal good deed, especially if not approved so abandoning his duties.

Since it was pre-approved, my only remaining minor gripe is being labeled a super Samaritan for something he was paid to do.

Still a nice thing, no doubt, something I approve of far more than military equipment. I would donate to a fund that reimbursed departments for any costs associated with this kind of policing....someone more tactful should create one.

BSR said:

I would imagine that there are not too many people up in arms about the cost of what the officer did anyway. I don't know if the officer got conformation of the death beforehand or if he made the trip to verify if the story was true or not but, either way I think he did the right thing especially if the story was true. He showed compassion and empathy, the very thing a cop should also have on his gun belt.

Cop Drives Man Over 100 Miles After Traffic Stop ...

newtboy says...

It took a while, but it seems he was on the clock according to the highway patrol spokesperson, but got permission so wasn't derilict. No idea if he got golden time or regular pay, or for how long, but he got paid, so personal kudos rescinded, kudos to the department head that OKed it.
A gofundme to pay the department back might be good, but I'm not starting one....I wouldn't know how.

BSR said:

You could find out if a Go Fund Me has been set up to reimburse the money cost. If not you could start one to make your point. Who would be the hero then?

Banana Republic - trump threatens to adjourn U.S. Congress

newtboy says...

Such utter bullshit and *lies
There are currently 89 nominees awaiting confirmation or refusals, not 129, and another 15 announced but not formally nominated by Trump so not eligible. He's had 510 confirmed (with many quickly leaving or being removed for cause). He bragged about not filling positions before, leaving most departments leaderless or at best with temporary heads with minimal powers to run their departments. There are over 1200 positions he should have filled in January 2017 but couldn't or wouldn't. So much for having the best people, he has the least complete administration ever in our history....couldn't find enough yes men I suppose.

Contrary to Trump's lies, he does not have the power to adjourn congress either unless the house or the Senate adjourn first and the other refuses to adjourn, or if they can't agree on a date. Adjourning the Senate now is something Moscow Mitch said he's not considering, they've got work to do. There is an agreed upon adjournment date, Jan 3 2021, which means Trump has zero power to force adjournment.

This impeached lame duck president should be barred from any new nominations, he's squandered those he started with and with Moscow Mitch's help already stole one Supreme Court seat that wasn't his and filled an extraordinarily high number of federal judge positions. If designated acting heads were fine until now, they're fine until January.

Better to be hurt on the ground than die in the air.

Payback says...

That's an odd finding. On the video, it looks like the incoming pilot landed on an apron between two pads. Even if the departing helicopter was centered, that's still awfully close. Sudden gust of wind and it might have happened anyway.

Edit: Ok, I see how the layout is.

https://goo.gl/maps/EnzXgvDf6YHMEj9S7

Seems a screwy setup, to be honest. I note the satellite image shows a chopper parked even worse than the first one in the video.

They didn't place all of the blame on the landing pilot, a significant contributing factor was the second helicopter being out of position. That might not have mattered on another day but the landing pilot didn't have good visibility.

PAPADOPOLOUS CONTINUES CONVERSATIONS OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL WEEKS AND MAKES TRIPS TO RUSSIA WHICH BEGINS TO RAISE FLAGS WITHIN THE CAMPAIGN

Manafort forwarded the message to another Campaign official, without including Papadopoulos, and stated: “Let[’]s discuss. We need someone to communicate that [Trump] is not doing these trips. It should be someone low level in the Campaign so as not to send any signal.”

APRIL 2016
+++++++++++++
Papadopoulos admitted telling at least one individual outside of the Campaign—specifically, the then-Greek foreign minister—about Russia’s obtaining Clinton-related emails.

Trump Campaign had received indications from the Russian government that it could assist the Campaign through the anonymous release of information that would be damaging to Hillary Clinton.

It only took 3 years for Dems to find a reason for impeachment articles . The thinnest of reasons with no proof. Only a difference of ideology feeds their blood thrust to remove this man.

No running, no Putin link no nothing just a big waste of Americans time.

I, personally love it. Trump has won the battle. Democrats across the land are fed up and will switch party or just sit out the 2020 election.

All for what? This now goes to the Senate. For what? Republican control and this will no pass/ convict. Just a wast of Americans time.

Who pays the lowest taxes in the US?

spawnflagger says...

While I'm all for progressive taxes, it would be nice if this presentation had just 1 graph that was absolute dollars paid in taxes, not always having the Y-axis a "% of total income" ... then we'd see that those rich people are paying hundreds to thousands of times more than the poor folks.

It would also be nice if individuals could choose what projects/departments/agencies their tax money (above some per-person baseline) went to, rather than budgets being proposed by executive branch and approved by congress. But if you hate political ads now, such a system would flood all channels of advertisement with "choose XYZ before April 15th!"

Capitalism Didn’t Make the iPhone, You iMbecile

newtboy says...

In reality, it wasn't spare time tinkering at all, it was serious academics doing full time paid research funded by the government. ARPANET, while funded by the defense department, was designed by and connected college researchers, the first transmissions were between UCLA and Stanford in 69, not the military. This was the first networking, the infant internet.
The military system in the 60's was a point to point tonal encryption system that ran on proprietary bell telephone systems with dedicated direct phone lines until the FCC forced Bell to give up it's capitalistic monopoly in 68, allowing for advancements in both the public and eventually private sector that led to the infant internet instead of just individual "computers" (and I use the term lightly here) directly communicating. Remember, back then, almost into the 90's, you needed to know the direct phone number of the other computer to connect (think "War Games"), there was no publicly accessible network.
The first retail internet transaction wasn't until 94.

Also imo, it was weird individuals tinkering in their spare time that made home computing anything more than very expensive word processors/calculators. We've had PCs since the 70's in my home, I remember what they could do then....I'm one of those weird individuals.

Long and short, your 5 different capitalistic ways ALL stem from a purely socialist base and a socialist denial of private for profit monopolies, and most if not all of them were developed and implemented using at least some public funding. Without that, we would still be using bell telephone phone modems to direct dial each other. Without public/private cooperation, neither sector could advance like they have together.
Imo, it's not an either/or situation, it's both.

Impeachment Bombshell Ties Trump and Rudy to Ukraine Scheme

newtboy says...

Still laughing Bobski? I am.

Trump has no facts on his side. Not one. Even his best defense, the money was released without the announcement of the investigations he demanded, is laughable since that came AFTER the drug deal was being investigated publicly....just like his angry denial on the phone of "I want nothing, I want nothing, no quid pro quo" came after he knew an investigation had started, he probably thought the question was a set up and was being taped by investigators. You don't get credit for dropping the money bag after being caught stealing it.

I'm sure the state department was pissed they were bypassed by Trump's idiot lackies pushing extortion schemes, their job is to safeguard our national interests and national safety and Trump was actively engaged in private unsanctioned operations in direct opposition to our national interests, policies, and laws using private citizens to form and implement secret foreign policy that directly contradicts long term public policy, hurts our standings, hurts Ukraine, and helps Putin. The only winner is Russia, who sold moronic Trump a previously thoroughly debunked fantasy, and he was so eager to suck more Putin cock that he discarded the entire intelligence community's warnings and the state department and instead believed a pair of Russian tied Ukrainian crooks and liars, and did their bidding for a bribe.

Any reasonable American is pissed he stupidly sold out the country for a lie.

Giving aid and comfort to an enemy of the state is called what? There's no question that withholding the aid to Ukraine gave both aid and comfort to Russia, a hostile foreign power and enemy of America.
What did Trump say we should to to those who committed treason?
