@Harzzach There is a glut of opinion wherever one looks these days that masquerades as "news" CNN is not an exception to this. It's important to make the distinction.

Reporting is what it sounds like. One records things. They create a record of things that happened, perhaps fact correcting and claim verification also.

Commenting is "here's a short short short version of what happened, let me tell you MY take on it for the rest of this hour"

It does indicate that this is NOT a deep fake, though.

I wish there was a functional embed from that unedited version I could use to stop the "deep fake!" cries from the peanut gallery. It's pretty clearly real, granted the version I posted cut the shit out of it, making it suspect....but I didn't want the commentary from other versions.

So...there are other less cut versions of this on YouTube, but they all seem to come with 5 minutes of inane commentary.
I do not know if this if ultimately a deep fake, but I do know there are better, cleaner versions out there. If anyone can find one without the commentary, please post it here and I'll happily replace it.

I’ve seen the raw footage from 1996 of this case without the commentary, but I’ve never been able to find any follow up. Does anyone have any idea how this ended up? It sounds good, but remember, he’s only serving (and “arresting”) court workers who have no idea what’s happening or how to respond. I’m curious what happened when it got to court. Did he win, or is this like sovereign citizen nonsense that might confuse someone into being scared to act but has no real legal validity?

What struck me in the landing commentary was this tendency to present this like some dumb exotic adventure with lots of teambuilding slogans (also "insane" engineering?). I guess it has to be like that for reasons but it is icky.

This is just engineering on a field trip. We have been there before, we are trying to make it safe to go there again. Things are expected to work.

We have video from this week of republican representatives (Google Josh Hawley) cheering on the traitors as they attacked democracy....and it's not an isolated incident. Remember, Trump told them to March to the capitol for a trial by combat to take their country back, not Pelosi or Schumer.

Every shooting of police, every random shooting into crowds, many arsons, every bombing, every car driving through crowds was right wing extremists, mostly Boogaloo boys. Verified by them in their printed manifesto or when caught in the act and proven in trials.

I suspect Al's come to realize that any fans he's going to lose by taking a stand for what's right, aren't fans he needs. Prior to this year (to the best of my knowledge), he's never even hinted at dipping a toe into social commentary or politics.

Trump is horrible for the country, but Biden is a gaff machine, and deserves to get made fun of.
