BACON CAUSES CANCER!!!! MCDONALDS IS GIVING FREE CANCER!
On a population scale that is huge.
If 1% of bacon lovers in the US get cancer, that's millions of people suffering and dying unnecessarily.
And indeed the stats back this up, 140,000 people are diagnosed every year, 50,000 people die from just colon cancer, year after year after year.
Where's the supposed propaganda?
BACON CAUSES CANCER!!!! MCDONALDS IS GIVING FREE CANCER!
1% increased risk for one type of cancer/all the bacon I can eat= mmmmmmmm....bacon
*promote all things bacon
Is Butter Really Back? What the Science Says
Indeed, your ratio is basically the opposite, even with the pills. But perhaps it will improve over time.
(often though these drugs don't fix the root cause, they address the symptoms which means you'll be on some form of pills forever, until you fix the underlying issue, which the doctor should have mentioned, but a lot of doctors are so disheartened these days because their patients rarely listen, or are scared of being called 'fat shamers' so they don't bother with the speech anymore)
Take a look at the success stories on ForksOverKnives.com we aren't exactly miserable.
When you feel for yourself how good life is when you are the master of your health and therefore fate, life becomes far far better. It's powerful, your whole perception of the world will change, and the fleeting pleasure you get from Butter or bacon doesn't compare, and of course we're eating cusine from across the world. We've given up nothing, just changed the ingredients.
I know yall think im a biased vegan, which is why I like to refer people to the success stories on plant based websites. You can see the life and passion return into people's eyes, there lives are transformed. The weight-loss is a mere side effect of being healthy.

The niaspan is only for the low good cholesterol, which 'may' work against my cardiovascular health. The doctor wasn't super concerned, but said we could try it. It's just niacin in a special wrapper, so I'm not too worried about it.
I probably should eat better, but I figure I should enjoy myself now and maybe skip those ultra fun 70's and beyond. I've seen too many people just fall apart once they hit their late 60's, a lot of them healthier than me.
Is Butter Really Back? What the Science Says
Wow. Those are astonishingly good numbers and, considering what you eat, are conclusive enough that these foods can be eaten in a heart healthy diet with great results even without excessive exercise.
I'm curious what the numbers are in our Vegan friend's blood, I seriously doubt they would be better than yours.
It's not surprising, but is disappointing to me that he discounted your numbers as inconclusive and/or unique natural anomalies, since they don't support his 'animal products are deadly poison for all people' claims.
I would theorize that the stress caused by worrying incessantly over what you (and others) eat is far more dangerous than the health effects of all but the worst, most highly processed foods....maybe worse than any foods.
Edit: BTW, I'm 48...going on 13, and I had my blood tested last summer....I didn't memorize my numbers, but the doctor said they were all well within the safe/healthy range so I didn't feel a need to keep track. I don't eat eggs, but I make up for it with extra bacon and butter, and meat at nearly every meal (but I only eat one meal a day).
They were arguing over which foods were healthy and unhealthy around the time I was born. I suspect such arguments will continue after I am dead.
I eat butter. I eat eggs. I eat bacon. I don't even exercise that much.
I'm 45, almost 46.
My HDL as tested a month ago was 46. My LDL was 29. My Triglycerides were 121.

Any of you cholesterol deniers need to watch to the end.
"This is Your Brain on Drugs! Any Questions?"
I liked the version...
This is drugs...
This is your brain on drugs...
This is your brain on drugs with a side of bacon and hash browns...
Any orders?

I delivered 20 pounds of bacon to my cousin at an air force base in Tajikistan a few years ago.
On the catwalk yeah
Sexy bacon!
Ted Cruz loves White Castle
It occurs to me this may be a highly regional food item. Cheese curds are really just chunks of (typically) mozzarella or cheddar cheese. Usually about the size of a regular or large marble. They can be bought fresh, or at restaurants you'll generally get them deep fried. That's what White Castle had a few months ago, and they were not quite MN State Fair quality (which are divine), but pretty damned good for the price.
If you want the best possible unfried cheese curds though, look to Wisconsin. In rural areas you can get them ridiculously fresh, and you'll know if you have - they squeak when you bite into them. That stops happening in less than a day, regardless of how they're kept.
Edit: Cheese curds are also a vital component of poutine, a Quebecois dish. French fries, cheese curds, crumbled bacon, and brown gravy. So goddamn bad for you / delicious.
My quest begins. I must try these... ...cheeeeeeeese curds
Why Meat is the Best Worst Thing in the World
I'm just here to say that bacon is delicious.
Tater Tot Grilled Cheese & Bacon Waffle Sandwich
They forgot to show the part where the pigs scream in agony to make the bacon https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rVR7NjnMkIc
Go to your local slaughterhouse and listen to squealing for yourself. You payed for it, so might as well get the full experience.
Or you can just eat happy waffles instead https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTCukSA9PTA

Stalked by a Cougar
Thanks, but a life without bacon is not one I want to live. I know the risks and accept them. I know the costs and offset them.
You can still try to convince them. Maybe at least then they won't have 10. Idiocracy is prophetic, trick them into watching it.
My large but finite footprint with no kids is smaller than a Sudanese with 2 kids who each have 2 kids who each have two kids in perpetuity. In the short term, lifestyle changes might be useful (but nearly impossible to sell), but long term, absolutely nothing works but population control, so it's more important imo. Also, since having no children is self beneficial, it's easier to sell to the selfish.
Absolutely agree with you, but if I can't convince someone intelligent like you to eat a plant-based diet, I don't like my chances att convincing Sharleen and Damien from having 5 kids :-)
The other thing is if you look at the consumption in Western civilisation, we use somethng like 80% of the resources, even though our populations are the smallest. Which would suggest it's mostly lifestyle related.
You haven't had cornbread till you've tried my cornbread
Love the *quality interaction, the back story, and the friendliness it takes to invite two strangers to your home for dinner,
..... but proper southern cornbread takes cornmeal, eggs, buttermilk, and fresh BACON GREASE. Once you make it that way you'll agree, no bacon, no good. I prefer it cooked in the oven in a buttered cast iron skillet too, then the bottom doesn't get over done.
New Rule: Distinction Deniers
No, you miss the point.
Distinctions are important.
It matters hugely, recognizing the difference between violent rape and an uninvited shoulder rub, just as it matters making the distinction between a spanking and attempted murder....not just legally but rationally.
I wholeheartedly disagree that making those distinctions about gradients of wrongness in any way denies the ability to see that both are wrong.....except for the brainless who can't do both.
Public shaming IS a sentence, one that harms your job, finances, family, and future. I have no problem with fair public shaming, but lumping a bad date in with real rapists is as fair as lumping you in with kidnappers and murderers because you slapped a disobedient child's behind.
He denies he did anything to intentionally make her uncomfortable or pressure her, which is what she accuses him of.
NO SIR. THAT IS YOUR POSITION, you said until overboard sentencing becomes a problem, there's no distinction needed between bad sex and forced sex.
Yes, it's not cool, but it's also not abuse unless it is.
If, like this woman, she #metoo'd that you were an octopus that ignored all her nonverbal signals to stop, your denial wouldn't mean much, and most people would just call you a rapist....just like his denial means nothing to you and you're more than willing to let him be lumped in with rapists and abusers.
You lumped them together in your post about how making distinctions is out of fashion. It's like you said stop eating broccoli, sugar, and bacon, then balked when I said broccoli is good for you, you only meant deep fried candied broccoli. Come on.
Don't expect me to read what you mean and ignore what you write...I absolutely hate that.
Don't be sexually aggressive...do be weird.
Yes, distinctions matter immensely.
No, grading offences is proper, otherwise you put rape and going Dutch on a date at the same level because they both upset the date.
If the person goes on a long date with you, accepts an invitation to your bed, undressed and engages in sex, asks you to slow down a bit (which means continue, slower, which you do), and continues, sleeps over, and only later complains, maybe relationships aren't for HER. Her date did absolutely nothing wrong. Verbal cues trump non verbal cues in the dark 99.9999999% of the time....pretty much any time there's no gun to your head.
@Payback, @newtboy you're missing the point.
It doesn't matter if rape is worse than groping... we need to start drilling into people that neither is acceptable.
The sentence for these crimes is different and that's correct. (So no, a shoplifter isn't Bernie Madoff)
But as far as I know, none of the accused has been sentenced to anything.
But public shaming as a minimum? I'm fine with that.
And Aziz Ansari doesn't deny what happened, he's just "sorry she feels that way".
"Does this go both ways? If a man has a bad date, or bad sex..."
There's a difference between bad sex and being pressured into sex. Even if it's not rape, it's still not cool.
"I hope that girl you had a bad date with in high school doesn't come back to show you the error of your position by adding your name to the "me too" list, destroying your career, family life, and future with no recourse to prove your innocence...all because she didn't orgasm.....but I do hope you see the error."
If she came back said I was crap in bed, I would probably shrug and say "hey I was a teenage boy, they're all crap at sex". If she said, I pressured her into sex, I would deny it vigorously.
"Being weird is the same as being a rapist?!? Jesus fucking Christ, I always thought you were rational. "
Come on, newt, you know that's not what I said. I said "stop being weird, gropey or rapey". If I said "stop eating bacon, doughnuts or sugar", would you think I meant that bacon, doughnuts and sugar are the same?
First, I like weird people on a day to day basis. Second, there's nothing wrong with consensual weirdness.
But in context, it's pretty clear what I was talking about. But if you must have it spelt out, don't
- force people to watch you masturbate
- meet people (especially younger members of the opposite sex that work for you) in a dressing gown in your hotel room
- make sexually explicit remarks to strangers
But to reiterate, yes, there are degrees of violation. Rape is worse than groping and groping is worse than exposure. There, happy now?
Now that we're all agreed on that, can we focus on stopping the problem instead of this pointless grading of offences?
This really isn't difficult. If you can't tell whether another person is enthusiastic about sexual activity with you... maybe relationships aren't for you.
