What attracted Sigourney Weaver to the character of Ripley
Absolutely the animated series was far superior, and the movie somewhat bland…but the character was still a bad ass action heroine.
Wasn’t it on MTV’s liquid tv first? I remember having to stay up until 1am or later to watch it back before DVRs, even before most people had VCRs.
Edit: not that I disagree about Furiosa.
Furiosa got the advantage because I'd rank Mad Max Fury Road much higher than Æon Flux The Movie. Even though I like Æon more than most critics, that movie's not distinct (dystopian?) enough.
But I'm biased as I saw the original animated series first and it was objectively far superior - very arthouse experimental in its day for an American production. Æon is the movie is just the stock ass-kicking comic heroine in the DC/Marvel vein. Æon in the animated series & the latter comics is something... far more interesting.

What about Aeon Flux?

Ghost in the Shell (2017) - Official Trailer
I know the story for this movie is more based on the anime series, more than the anime movie... but god damn... there's so many iconic scenes from the first movie in this trailer... Love it.
Kevin Smith Shares A Moment With Daughter Harley Quinn Smith
To be fair, Harley Quinn was an original character from the Batman Animated Series and not from a comic book. *promote
p.s. I'm named after Marcus Antonius =P
Don't name your children after comic book characters or people from the bible. Thanks.

The 5 Most Tragic Justice League Episodes
Epilogue is one of the best but the guy made a mistake on that. It's not a wrap-up for Batman: The Animated Series. It's a wrap-up for Batman Beyond, since half of the episode takes place in that future.
Batman - Evolving The Legend
Batman the Animated Series is the first TV show I ever bought the DVDs for. It's the definitive Batman to me. The animated movies are great too, like Under The Red Hood, The Dark Knight Returns, and Mask of the Phantasm.
Superman - The Golden Age of Animation
http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLF0DB0EF95184ECB4 for the old animated series.

Ghost in the Shell - The New Movie Trailer
Just easier if you look at http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=rel&aid=3431
I think GitS:SAC tv series is the best anime series ever. Ever single episode I would always watch at the edge of my seat absorbing every second of the story.
Innocence was way too obtuse to get into.
I don't understand why they got Mary Elizabeth McGlynn for this movie, yet she's not voicing Motoko Kusanagi. She's perfect for this role! Same with William Frederick Knight not voicing Chief Aramaki.
After the original movie, I suggest watching the second movie, "Innocence", then diving into the Stand Alone Complex series of which there are two seasons. After that, the Solid State Society movie.
From there, if you don't mind everything suddenly becoming radically different, and characters contradicting what's been said in the other installments, continue on to the Arise series. You can watch it as a 10 episode series, or as 4 movies + the last two episodes of the series.
After that, you'll be all caught up.
Don't watch the movie versions of Stand Alone Complex, watch the series.
