Atrix Smartphone/Laptop/Desktop
Impressive device. I hope the laptop-dock also has a large battery in it.
would be nice if it supports usb or bluetooth mouse too, since it doesn't look like the larger screen is touch capable. I, for one, couldn't play Angry Birds with only a touchpad...
Zero Punctuation: iPhone Games
I think one of his arguments is that Iphone Games Are less derivative of eachother and not simple cash ins ( to the extent of AAA games), (although that's not his central points and i'm just elaborating on this one thing for the sake of brining it to light)
This is simply not true , granted you don't see 10x of the same game typ on the app store front end , but that's because they are often copping from flash games which act as a filter , app store is just a part of the "micro casual game" market place which would incude , flash , andriod ,xbl indi, and other such services. ( the popularity aspect of how the app store lists games is also a filter but just because you cannot see them on the front end dose not mean that the vast majorty of content avalable is not dervtive and a cash in , in the same way console games are.
angry birds for example is esentualy another developer cashing in on a game like crush the castle .
I don't mind people cashing in on game ideas or concepts , but what I do dislike is that the guys that made crush the castle would now find it very hard to make decent money from that game on iphone. ( I believe both authors should receive fair compencastion , crush castle devs for original concept , and angry bird devs for building on it.
Its allot harder to make Serous money from a flash game hit than it is to make decent money from a I phone hit , angry birds has probably made the devs over £1Mil where as crush the castle on flash maby 20-50k
Zero Punctuation: iPhone Games
Wait, Angry Birds is $1 on iTunes? (iAppStore, iGullible, whatever it's called)..
It's free on Android. Just sayin.
Zero Punctuation: iPhone Games
I have just entered the 'real' world of mobile gaming having got my first android phone. And while the market is not as rich or deep as the iPhone library, I have been thoroughly enjoying wasting time on the train playing Angry Birds and the like... and I have a lot of games... and I've paid for a sum total of... 1 of them. Reckless Racing. And I'm glad I did as it's an impressive little top down racer indeed. Plus... $3 Australian hardly breaks the bank.
Plus, other than getting to use the Wii with the kids occasionally on a weekend, it's the only gaming I get to do
Angry Birds Peace Treaty
Before, I only had to worry about videosift and Reddit. A few weeks ago, I discovered Angry birds. I can no longer consider myself a productive member of society.
Angry Birds Peace Treaty
*promote WTF!! Israeli television turns Angry Birds into peace accords and suicide bombers??
I just bought a HTC Legend - any tips? (Geek Talk Post)
Yeah, download Angry Birds. Tis bloody ace!

+1 for Barcode Scanner (it's not great at 1D codes, but very good with 2D QR-codes)
Dolphin Browser HD (better than the built in browser)
PdaNet (allows single laptop usb or bluetooth tethering, instead of paying $30 extra per month for Wifi hotspot)
Angry Birds (highly addictive game)
Andoku (best free sudoku of the several I tried)
Fring (multi protocol chat)
Also, in defense of Advanced Task Killer - it only kills what you ask it to. If you don't get overzealous with the settings, it's useful in killing some of the provider-installed crapware that seems to randomly run in the background for no reason (Sprint Zone, ESPN, Nascar, Amazon MP3 - all apps that I can't delete without "rooting" the phone).
