Titanfall Gameplay video @ 1440p
That thing is running 4 Titans and 64GB of RAM?
damn.
Of course that's the other absurd end of the spectrum. As much as I love the PC platform for how it's so upgradable.
I will never understand the need to show off the capabilities of a rig that extreme if it's not even close to what what your typical person will experience.
The typical person will never have a titan...much less 4 of them. The typical person doesn't max out the memory capability of their motherboard unless it's really old.
and what's a setup like that cost? at least 5 grand?
I can't say too much though, I think I'm going to build an obscene rig for when Star Citizen comes out...but it still won't even touch this.
Titanfall Gameplay video @ 1440p
It was one of the best games I've ever played. Certainly the best shooter. That PC beta period didn't last nearly long enough and can't wait to play it again. I had an i3 530 and nVidia 450 GTS at the time and still got fairly good graphics on my 1600x900 monitor... By March 11th I should have a new i7 4770k and an nVidia GTX 770 and a 1080p monitor so win there... Quad Titans on the system shown though is insane... And can the XBox One even do the game on 1080p or was it locked to 720p like most other titles? Which is the crazy part... I mean, I might get an XBox One Titanfall edition since you get the game and a headset for no additional cost, and Destiny sadly isn't coming to PC for some odd reason.
Unforgivable Blackness: The Rise and Fall of Jack Johnson
Sallyjune approved of this, watched it all the way through twice now, once as chingalera-Jack Johnson was the SHIT!
Fare thee well Titanic, fare thee well.
^(line from one of the many blues ballads written about the ill-fated Titanic..
"They wouldn't let ol' Jack Johnson on board, they said, 'this ship don't haul no coal..'

The World's Largest Vessel leaves dry dock (timelapse)
There's a comparison graphic in this article - http://www.largestshipintheworld.com/largest_ships_in_the_world/shell-prelude-floating.php
@EMPIRE I couldn't find a direct comparison with the Titanic, but there is a comparison of the Titanic with the QM2, and the QM2 with the Prelude in the link above - http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Comparison_of_some_of_the_longest_ships_RU.svg
Half a kilometer, sweet jelly jubes. It's kinda hard to see the scale of it in the vid though.
The World's Largest Vessel leaves dry dock (timelapse)
just as a comparison, the Titanic was 269 meters long. That's just a bit above half that size.
And for a modern comparison, the Allure of the Seas, the largest ocean liner in existence, is 362 meters long.
This is my way of saying... HOLY FUCK that ship's huge!
BATMAN vs DEADPOOL - Who will Win?
When it comes down to a fair fight, Batman loses against anyone that doesn't just fight hand to hand and/or has a healing factor / super strength. But that's not what Batman's true power is. These idiot fanboys and their value system based on Street Fighter / Mortal Kombat bullshit. 3, 2, 1 -- Fight!
No, no, no, humans: His true strength delves into something which can only be whittled down via the collapse of Earth itself: Economic superiority. But even then, he's the Ritchie Rich of superheoes and would likely be able to rebuild his wealth on another planet.
All Batman needs to do is acquire an object of immense power and then employ it against whoever it is he's up against. He doesn't even need to fight but chooses to fight. If he's fighting Superman, obtain kryptonite -- or hell, gain access to the Siege Perilous and then just destroy the mind of whatever passes through it. He's friggin' Bruce Wayne and has a vast web of connections, bolstered by his income, which can get him ANYTHING.
Anyway. There are cosmic entities which have a greater pull of resources than Batman so let's match Batman's economic superiority (he's basically an army) against an actual threat backed by near infinite resources, such as the Negative Zone's Annihilus, Titan's Thanos, a time traveler like Kang the Conqueror, or the hive mind of the Phalanx.
Hell, I'd love to see Batman hack Galactus' base of operations and then invade and divert cosmic consonance.
But this pussy footing Batman VERSUS Deadpool is moot. Batman VERSUS anyone in a normal match up is stupid. Elevate your understanding.

Why in the shit would they use the now-slow Titan when they could use the r290 or the even better GTX780 Ti?

That $5k Nvidia card is a quadro. It's a workstation card, designed more for CAD or 3d visuals. I'm not sure the difference would actually be that big for games.
I was kinda disappointed they didn't go SSD for the storage, but holy roller-blaing christ..... quad titans!!!
As near as I can figure out on the Digital Storm website, a rig like this will cost about $17,236. The Titans are about $1k each but Nvidia has a card that's $5k.

Big Budget Hollywood Movie About Noah's Ark with Russel Crow
Is Hollywood 'this' devoid of ideas? I guess they are. Oddly enough this has a lot of talent behind it, and it looks like it could be interesting. I mean Battleship looked stupid as fuck but was actually pretty fun.
Martineister I can respect your belief. There are many stories of a great flood in many cultures but one must realize that floods are not an uncommon thing, even floods that consume entire parts of the world. For example, there is evidence that the Mediterranean was formed by a flood several million years ago. But there is zero scientific evidence that the world itself flooded, or that 17'400'000'000 animals (2 of the 8.7 billion known species on the planet) fit on a boat about 2/3rd the size of the Titanic.
"Cornfield Bomber"
Wow, of all things unlikely this has to take the prize!
It would be like the titanic crashing into an iceberg, starting to sink but after taking in some few tons of water just stops sinking.
Why?
It hit shallow waters and just lied there in the middle of an ocean broken and stuck.
That's what this is, improbable!
Cyanide & Happiness - Sinking Ship
This was way better than Titanic movie!
Bill Burr - Equality for Women
It's called the Birkenhead drill, and according to a episode of QI it was only used twice, on the Birkenhead and on the Titanic.
Women and children first was and never has been. This means that it was not the case on the Titanic.
Conscription on the other hand ....

A Tribute To The Master of Stop-Motion: Ray Harryhausen
The Jason and the Argonaut films, and Clash of the Titans, were my childhood.
Thanks for the *quality times, Ray.
