Trump's covid "response", Trump's economy, Trump's unemployment numbers, Trump's (total lack of a) plan, his new idea is (probably unconstitutionally) offer 1/2 the relief needed contingent on bankrupt states coming up with another 1/6 from thin air....a plan blatantly designed to fail, but Trump will claim he tried and states just didn't want the money because they hate Trump and want to make him look bad. 🤦‍♂️

So yes, it's Trump's fault people don't have money to pay their bills nor any way to earn it. Leaders in other countries infected at the exact same time as the U.S. actually led and S Korea and New Zealand never had the issues we did and didn't have to lock down long at all. We had leadership that actively made things worse, not better, spread misinformation constantly, contradicted itself daily, and insanely conflated ignoring and denying public health emergencies with freedom and civil rights.

Longer than necessary? What states have met the required two weeks of consistent low numbers and a solid declining infection rate that even Trump says are the minimum guidelines for opening?

Buddy, you've never read the constitution, and wouldn't comprehend it if you did. You probably think Trump suspending payroll taxes is constitutional because he's the one trying it.

Yes, 3-5% death rate with up to 15% disabled for life is definitely worth closing businesses and keeping them closed.....unless morons like Trumpsters continue to ignore the recommendations and extend the shutdown indefinitely.

Precondition groups? You mean anyone with a pre-existing condition which makes them more susceptible? You're implying those without preexisting conditions are safe, utter bullshit. They aren't. BTW, obesity is a preexisting condition that covers >40% of America all by itself, being overweight covers >70%....and it's just one of dozens.

Can't go to work if it's closed. Can't safely reopen until infection rates decline, rates won't decline until morons stay home long enough without attending rallies and parties. Duh. After Sturgis, expect the second wave nationwide in two weeks extending shutdowns for months at least, fucking morons.

Gov cheese ran out now because Republicans want billions-trillions in unrelated payoffs, pork, pet projects, and tax cuts to consider continuing them, after grifting billions from the last, totally unregulated handout to businesses,... your brother is coming to live with you soon. If everyone got the extra unemployment and every business shut down and people stayed home, we could be like S Korea, but with Trump's (total lack of) leadership we have become a worldwide pariah, unwelcome around the world, and with 4% of the population we have 25% of infections and deaths and rising.
You said you work largely from home. We're you lying then, or are you being intentionally dishonest, misleading people now by hiding it?

And how is this Trumps Fault?

People not paying their bills is Trumps fault?

Democrats keeping states closed down longer than necessary keeping people out of work is un Constitutional and how is this Trumps fault?

Is a 3% death rate with 1/2 of deaths for those past retirement age and government should keep business closed?

Precondition groups should be told to stay home and receive aid.

Mask Up, Go to to work, Pay your bills.

My brother has a precondition and was told by his Dr. to stay home. He collects more $ from gov cheese.

I've yet to miss a day of work.

Covid 19-A Fireside Chat

newtboy says...

Trump administration's March 13 CDC directive- "nursing homes should admit any individuals that they would normally admit to their facility, including individuals from hospitals where a case of COVID-19 was/is present."

CDC guidelines require any newly admitted and readmitted resident with a COVID-19 case to be placed in a designated COVID-19 care unit, while those who have met the criteria to have recovered can return to a regular unit in the nursing home. The March 13 guidance that Cuomo's office cited says "a nursing home can accept a resident diagnosed with COVID-19... as long as the facility can follow CDC guidance."

In short, because the CDC told them to.

Why did the Republican governors do the same thing?

Anderson Cooper Struggles With Las Vegas Mayor's Logic

1) Do you see protesters practicing social distancing? Hint, they aren't, because the virus is a liberal hoax to bring down Trump. So moronic, but fine as long as they're only infecting each other. Open businesses and they'll restart the outbreaks and restart the clock on quarantine, wasting all the gains of the last 6 weeks.

2) open or not you'll have no tourists. Tourism is on hold for the moment, and large gatherings too. Casinos would have to rebuild themselves first, they are designed to make social distancing impossible. If no tourists guarantees failure, they Damn well better prepare for failure, because there are no tourists.

3) if they go to work and force a second, longer, more strict quarantine, all that happens anyway plus a few tens of thousands more dead.

4) agreed, and the black and white choice made solely on the basis of improving the economy must ignore the obvious health risks that themselves threaten the economy further. Opening early sets us back months, back to the start of stay at home orders, back to before the economic crash and massive losses, but without first restoring the market or economy. Do you think the economy can handle another crash? Because that's what you'll get if Trump and Trumpsters open before the minimal guidelines have been met....two weeks of declining infections and deaths. Those are Trump's guidelines, probably insufficient, but better than the "we'll be the control group in a pandemic experiment....and better than Trump himself who abandoned his own recommendations days after releasing them and now supports protesters. *facepalm

bobknight33 said:

If you open, even with limited capacity, social distancing you may stay afloat.

If you don't open you will have ZERO tourist. That guarantees failure of business, city, county and the state.

If the employees stay home they will run out of $, go broke, loose the house and car and the job that let them keep it.

Seeing thing as a black and white choice is not allays a good thing. And this is not one of them.

Awesome new March records! - Guinness World Records

moonsammy says...

Ok, but the guy who did the backpack pull-ups was missing a leg. That... oh god. Oh no.

That seems to give him a leg up.

I swear I didn't intend that when I started the comment. But I have children and am male, so there are expectations to be met here.

Seriously though, if the guy who next breaks that record isn't missing any limbs I'll be surprised.

Chelsea Manning Released From Prison!

Policeman Just Hanging Out While On Duty

newtboy says...

Kind of you, thanks.

The best you can do for me is be grateful for those that offer you help or kindness and express it, and not develop a sense of entitlement and expectations that others owe you favors and handouts, or an obligation to put themselves at risk. The more people that do that, the better.

Unfortunately, I have all too often gotten the opposite from those I've offered assistance, kindness, trust, or even familial benefits/ treatments. More often than not, my kindness is mistaken for weakness, and met with demands for more rather than thanks for what I gave/did, and abusive anger when I balked. My faith in humanity has been ground into the dirt and peed on consistently enough, even by family, that it's maybe not completely dead, but is on life support and declining. To keep it alive, I must now be extremely selective about who I put myself out for and how.

I sincerely hope you don't have the same experience.

makach said:

okay, that went dark fast. I get your point and I am sad that this is a reality that you are familiar with. I am fortunate enough to live in a different country and am in a life situation where I can have a little bit more faith in humanity, I am lost for words.

Let me know if there is anything I can do to help, lots of love.

God damnit Chug.

newtboy says...

Have I said any such things? I certainly don't recall saying any of that.
You must note, however, that the overreaction you get from some people likely stems from attempts to shame them using exaggeration, hyperbole, and even outright lies, which tend to make enemies to your cause rather than converts. I've never met a vegan that didn't operate that way to some degree. Perhaps those people are just giving back the same level of honest discussion and discourse they received. There's apparently something about veganism that makes it's practitioners think their movement is more important that fact and truth, like the "Dr." (and his followers) who claimed eating any amount of any red meat is just as carcinogenic as smoking a pack a day of cigarettes, citing WHO studies that said nothing of the sort. Many have said "If you agree with my goal, stopping animal suffering, why would you contradict my claims, even though I privately agree they're exaggeration and fantasy?". Ends don't justify means imo, and nothing justifies lying.

I don't need a degree in nutrition or to be a dietitian to understand the basics covered in multiple health classes I've passed and multiple scientific studies I've read. Is meat healthy? Yes....if it's raised and prepared properly and eaten in moderation. Is meat unhealthy? Yes...when eaten excessively or prepared unsafely.
Is veganism healthy? Yes....when practiced properly with a balanced diet that has all the nutrients humans need. Is veganism unhealthy? Yes...it is the way it's practiced by most vegans who don't have a grasp on what proper nutrition is. It's definitely harder to have a balanced healthy diet without any animal products, but isn't impossible.

Once again, I feel you are being fast and loose with fact by implying any of those statements have come from me. The only people I expect to die 6 times in a row are the ones in my dungeon that I'm keeping alive to prolong their torture....and they know what they did to deserve it. ;-)

HerbWatson said:

Food shaming? I know all about that.

Apparently all I eat is grass, my teeth will rot, my bones will be weak, and I'll die 6 times in a row from protein deficiency. That's just on the daily.

The real clever people like to tell me that I'll make the cows go extinct, and the next person will tell me that the cows will overpopulate the earth if we don't eat them.

Don't worry about doing a degree in nutrition, just tell someone you don't eat animal foods, and they'll become a dietitian in about 4 seconds :-)

Cat Saves Toddler From Falling Down Stairs

Honest Government Ad | We're Fucked

newtboy says...

So, you're ignorant of the fact that most forests, approximately 60% in California, are national/federal forests under federal control, with only about 3% being state controlled? The rest are privately owned.
You're likely also ignorant of the fact that your messiah has cut the already wholly inadequate funding to manage them by around $2 billion per year nation wide, threatening to drop that to zero in California, all the while ignorantly claiming it's the state who is not managing it's responsibilities.
California, conversely, has budgeted >$2 billion to manage state run forest lands.
Requests to the national forestry department for better management of overgrown and unmanaged federal forests have been met with threats from Trump to remove all federal funding.

The nation's forest service is so poorly funded under Trump that they can't even afford a spokesperson to answer those accusations, there's just a recording saying there's no staff due to budget cuts.

So much for the promise to fix the nation's infrastructure.

Side note, Paradise Ca is in conservative Butte county....burned to nothing. ($16.5 billion and 85 deaths) That fire started on federal land.
Redding is in conservative Shasta county, badly damaged (>$21 billion with 8 deaths.) That fire also started on federal lands.
But keep blaming liberals, it's all you're good at. *facepalm

bobknight33 said:

All the mismanagement of CA forests and still mother nature will right the wrongs of the well intention of liberals.

Giuliani/Trump Donors/Associates Arrested Fleeing The U.S.

newtboy says...

They've been under quiet investigation since at least February, probably longer. It only became public because they tried to flee the country after Giuliani met with them (and maybe tipped them off), and were publicly arrested at the airport. Duh.

If Obama's donors had funneled hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars of Russian money to him, his personal lawyer, and Pelosi to buy their interference in foreign countries against the interests of the United States and multiple laws, would you complain it was made public, or would you seethe, irate over the fact it was kept private and allowed to continue for so long by the DOJ? I know which.

Still feel like Trump's winning? Still claiming no collusion?

These guys, funded by Russians, paid Trump (and other Republicans) to do their bidding, illegally. They needed our ambassador, who wouldn't play ball in their corrupt schemes, removed, so they sold Chump a blatant lie that, in his deluded paranoia, and against all professional advice, information, and opinion, he naively believed and acted on. Zero question.

bobknight33 said:

If these guys did wrong then let them have their punishment.

Little Girl Puts On Lipstick All By Herself

newtboy says...

Trust...but verify. Regan got one thing right. I'm not a liar, but I'm certainly not always right either.

They've never met, he was lying.

Fact?....ok, no, prediction. She's a little girl, so it's a near certainty she's going to be trouble in 10 years under any circumstances, but more so if she's a practiced liar.
But, her dad is rewarding the lying with extra attention and laughter. Assuming that's normal for them, he's teaching her to lie, not teaching her to be truthful. At the very least, that degrades his ability to reasonably complain when the lies get serious....She's only doing what he taught her after all.

BSR said:

A) I don't know if you lie or not. I trust you regardless.

B) OMG! Your brother knows OCKIE too!

C) So, "She is going to be serious trouble in about 10 years." was a little overblown? Not really fact?

Accident At Blake's Truck

jimnms says...

They really will bill you for that shit. I met a guy that was in a car accident. He got run off a road and his car hit a mile marker sign. The sign caused the car to flip over. He survived, but the state actually sent him a bill for the sign and labor to replace it. I told him he should send them his hospital bills because I thought those signs had to be designed to break so they wouldn't cause a car to flip if it hit it.

BSR said:

He's gonna have to pay for the yellow arrow sign he took down.

Were you raised in a Christian home? The solution to this problem is that no one is ignorant. That’s what I showed you when I quoted Romans 1:18-21. It teaches that it’s not that you are ignorant of Gods existence, its that you suppress the truth in unrighteousness and thus deceive yourself. You made the comment about the stupidity of the generation of Noahs day rejecting their own mercy, but that is exactly the same thing you are doing by rejecting Jesus Christ.

It’s not about being good enough to come to God. My heart was wretched when God found me but I did respond when He reached out to me. I didn’t respond perfectly but He used it and led me to faith in His Son. If you began to reach out to God He would respond to you in a way you will be able to perceive.

When the bible says God is good, it means He is morally perfect. That is Gods definition of good. No man except one has ever met that definition and therefore is unable to qualify for salvation without an atonement for their sins. The one who met that requirement is the man who never sinned, Jesus Christ.

Well, it’s a fallacy to say that the origin of the message dictates the truth of the message. A good message can be spoken by a bad messenger.

Secondly, it hasn’t been debunked. I know the atheist websites you visit tell you it has been, but it hasn’t. There are good reasons to believe in God that a reasonable person can and should believe .

When I say too difficult, I don’t mean by sheer human effort. Human effort is completely useless in achieving a good result as a Christian. That is why it is found to be too difficult because to come to Christ means taking up your cross and following Him. Yet properly understood it isn’t difficult in the sense that it can’t be done. We can get into a discussion about that in another reply.

You are also using fallacious reasoning to compare Jesus, a historical person, to Xenu, a fever dream of scientology or the flying spaghetti monster. All possibilities are not equal, neither are all Messiahs equally credible. The life of Jesus is a matter of history and not our imaginations. I gave you lines of evidence which you dismiss without even investigating them. Jesus is the prophesied Messiah of the Old Testament. Indeed He is the only possible person who could be the Messiah since He is the only one who fulfilled the 70 weeks of Daniel prophecy which predicted the year of the Messiahs death. Are you interested in talking about that?

When you say you’re a good person, what do you mean by that?

newtboy said:

Hearing the word imparted distrust, not faith. I was raised in the south, I've heard the word plenty, and the more I heard the more questionable it sounded.
