A GOP political operative Jessie Benton (Rand Paul’s niece’s husband) was just convicted in federal court in Washington DC for unlawfully funneling foreign campaign donations from a Russian “businessmen” to political groups that supported Trump in 2016. Benton now faces up to 20 years in prison.

Trump pardoned him for helping funnel $100000 through Paul’s campaign into state legislature campaigns.
Also caught in a sting where the Telegraph asked him for help hiding and funneling Chinese money ($1-2 million) into American campaigns and he did.
Also laundered money from Russians through personal accounts directly to Trump, Russians who met and hung out with Trump because of their contributions, so Trump knew.

One more MAGA criminal convicted of collusion with Russia for Trump in 2016. There’s one hell of a lot of convictions for something you people think never happened. There’s one hell of a lot of people in prison over what you call the “rusher hoax”.

Wait, are people blaming the paid celebrity endorsers, as if they're at fault for some part of this? I suppose that wouldn't surprise me as I've met people, but goddamn that's dumb. They're actors! They were PAID to ACT in an AD!

cloudballoon said:

Larry's more in the same boat as the likes of Matt Damon & Kim Kadashian here. However, the after-the-fiasco irony in the ad could/should avoid landing Larry into lawsuits/hotwater like those 2 actors did (unless he also pump & dump, contrary to his message, which I don't know yet?).

JiggaJonson says...

That's a sick equivocation. Moreover, dont you realize, YOU are the groomer in this situation?

There's one side saying

"This is the person type you must be attracted to if you are like this. This is the only type you can be. Any thing other than the prescribed way of doing things and it's sick and you're a pervert."

Another side is saying
"Be who you want to be, do what you want to do. It's okay if you feel X way about Y."

Dont you get it, it's not adults trying to push kids to do anything. The kids are the ones saying it. Seriously, you think I'm trying to call kids by the wrong name intentionally? THEY come up to me and Chris will say "actually call me Christy" "Ohhhkay Christy, have a seat and dont come up to my desk like that."

The KIDS are the ones who seem to not give a fuck about who goes in what bathrooms, but there are people "directing" (grooming?) their behavior saying "you must go to this one if X condition is met"

What state was it they were even doing genital exams to make sure only boys went to the boys and girls went to girls. https://www.ohiohouse.gov/news/democrat/ohio-republicans-want-to-force-children-to-undergo-genital-exams-to-play-high-school-sports-110422

Which side here^ is saying "just let them play" and which side wants to actually ask a child to physically expose themselves because of their dogmatic religious ideas about sex and gender?

I am proud to be on the side NOT asking children to expose themselves. Who's in charge of the lawmaking body for that school in Ohio, Let me know and I'll register to vote with the other side.

the whole 'worthless degrees' is largely bogus. unless it's a DJT University ratskin, just the experience alone broads a person's mind (some more/some less).

a cartoon once read where a woman lamented to her girlfriend, that as a housewife, she didn't get to use her psychology degree. her husband interrupts them complaining about the cleanness of the floors. the wife tells him she just did them and the argument goes into overdrive. finally, she chides him w/"oh! big talk! as if you could do better!" oh, of course, he takes the bait, rolls up his sleeves...and the wife's friend smilingly says "you never use it?"

don't think it ever goes to total waste.

and bk33's contention that free education would be undervalued is largely bupkiss too: the desire to pay back is often a motivation; enhances the tax base; fills jobs that translate to greater national security...etc. the value is too great to be ignored. for the country or the individual.

even if it was worthless, it still can be appreciated. like the time Bob Newhart told the story of a tryst he had w/a woman he met at a party. both drunk, ending up in the back of his car - - as he put it, "it meant nothing. never saw her again. it was the cheapest, meaningless moment that i'll never forget for the rest of my life!"

When my mother graduated summa cum laude from Rice University, it was one of the most respected universities in America and 100% free. Her degrees are anything but worthless. So much for that talking point.

In California, jr colleges are quite affordable, when I went it was under $250 a semester for 15+ units, all transferable to nearly any 4 year school. That’s a savings of about $80 k on freshman and sophomore years alone. The classes were small, the professors award winners, and they got to teach instead of trying to weed out 2/3 of the class like many 4 year colleges. Now in many cases 2 years of full class schedules are free in California at least. I don’t know why anyone would go to a 4 year college for freshman and sophomore year.

I didn’t care about a degree, so I stayed at jr college for 10 years taking whatever I wanted. More people should take advantage of them.

You know that, at CPAC, ULTRA MAGA Republican Congress member Andy Biggs called for defunding the police, the DOJ, FBI, judges, courts, etc…anyone who has helped prosecute anyone for Jan 6 terrorism, any group investigating Trump, or Republican child raping senators….right?
Defund the police has become a far right rally cry now! After all those lies that Biden was going to defund them, and his insistence he planned the exact opposite, now your guys want to defund the police (now that your people are getting arrested and held on high bail, suddenly the disaster out incarceration system seems out of whack, where before Jan 6 any complaint was met with “you know how to avoid that? Don’t do crimes”…suddenly the right sees prison reform as important, and law enforcement as the enemy.

ROTFLMFAHS!!! I love it when a far right plan falls apart.

@bcglorf

I only mention the illegal status of the invading Jewish masses in the 40’s because they would deny it. I’ve heard many a person claim all Jewish people there were legal immigrants and legal refugees invited in by Palestinians, but the vast majority came after the war ended…illegally….intent on taking over the country and expelling the natives.

Coming as refugees intending to return “home” would have been fine for everyone, but they didn’t want to try that….it wouldn’t end with a Jewish state.

I’m only anti Zionist because they don’t play fair. Because they claim absolute rights to others land, heritage, water, defense, even lives, then act self righteous about their Nazi like behavior and deny any obvious parallels. I find intolerable the one sided “conflict” where rocks or fireworks are met with bullets and bombs under the excuse that “we have the right to defend ourselves”, where well under 10000 Israeli have died but over 65000 Palestinians have been killed directly not counting the millions who died of disease, malnourishment, lack of water, lack of medicine, etc. from the treatment they received from Israel.
I really dislike the situation because my country involved itself and CAUSED it….without our intervention Israel would have ceased to exist in the 50’s, and it sickens me that my country pays for a genocidal racist nation to continue to exist.

I believe the Jewish state should have been carved out of Germany. I would not complain with them returning the treatment they received from actual Nazis…it’s treating relatively innocent victims like that simply because they can that’s unconscionable.

My gripe is totally about their collective actions, not their genetics or religion. That’s the important difference between my reasoning and the right’s hatred of non white immigrants.

okay...you did offer some sources. couple of them reliable and one wouldn't line the cat box with.

did read the surgery was in '88, and webmd article basically said no worries.

so what was the point? what was at the end of that labyrinth?

dirty shame about the world hating americans.

damn.

odd, that...just got through a piece that questioned the stereotype of 'ugly americans' in europe. many europeans found other europeans more objectionable (russians came up often).

have met with a LOT of people from around the world. some here and some on travels...most seemed okay w/my presence. going to put that alongside the daily news source. [might be right about those saudis that threw rocks at us...but that was a misunderstanding]

...and traveling along w/mom...spent more time in strangers' homes than museums.

*ahem* maybe it's more the person than the people. [found that everywhere]

I hadn't heard about that story. Funny and sad at the same time. Definitely would get thrown out of court if the prosecutor did bring charges. Reporter did the right thing (telling them), it's a shame he's getting backlash of stupidity.

When it comes to sensitive data, the government and corporations have due-diligence requirements that weren't met here (even if it was unintentional/temporary), so maybe (IANAL) the teacher's union could file a class-action suit? They'd probably settle out of court for 1 year of LifeLock or some other such BS. Maybe the website was created by the Governor's grandson or nephew as a high school project? Mistake is worse than incorrect ACLs on a S3 bucket...

newtboy said:

Yes, Missouri. The unhinged ignorant governor wants to prosecute reporters for viewing source data, but there’s no law about this, no hacking required, just a left click, and despite the governor’s politically motivated attempts to force a case, the prosecutor has declined to file any charges against the reporter who noticed and reported that the government website had publicly posted the social security numbers of every teacher in the state….likely because the only crime was on the government’s part….including the continuing politically motivated retaliatory investigations against the reporter who discovered this inexcusable lapse in security under the governor’s nose.

He (the prosecutor) should file charges against the website administrator for exposing 100000 teachers to identity theft, and the governor for abuse of power for trying to prosecute the whistleblower for reporting the non existent security to the government, he even held off publishing his report to give the school system time to fix the issue before it became public knowledge.

Thank you 81 million, thank you!

@newtboy,

??? How exactly do you figure cancellation of a billion dollar project is no where near the economic cost of blocking a border crossing for awhile at similar cost???

I'll tell you what the difference in Canada is, the dollars lost from the pipeline were being lost in Alberta, the dollars lost from the convoy were in Ontario. In Canada we've got a pretty sad history of if it happens to western provinces, it doesn't matter. Much like the urban/rural divide in the US. The response is pretty similar as well, the urban side just laughs at the loss of the stupid backwards country folk. When the same thing hits them though it's a national emergency.

I've tried pointing out costs and your just rejecting them out of hand , while whole hog accepting the highest estimates for the convoy cost as gospel truth. Like the literally a company walking from a multi-billion dollar project and you insist that's nothing and the days the border was blockaded clearly must have cost more...

For years now I've insisted that illegal blockades of worksites, job sites or trade routes should be met with prompt arrests and re-opening of the route/site.

Until January of this year, the entirety of the Liberal minded half of my country(Ottawa centric) called that authoritarian, repressive and were against the notion. Now I find myself in a weird spot, as suddenly that same crowd DOES want that action and more to be taken promptly. And the conservative crowd that agreed with me before is now kinda walking things back.
