Wanda Sykes Worked For The NSA?

Buck says...

I pretty much disagree with everything she said. Snookie has the right (or so I thought thats what the constitution says) to say pretty much whatever comes to her mind (and she seems to) without having ANY government agency listening in! (or corporate!) unless they have good reason to suspect she commited a crime?

I would bet a LARGE sum of money that Our (Canadas) version of NSA are doing the same to us.

What amazes me is how we ALL (even me) let it happen. We let the criminals take our money and still bail them out. Iceland had it right.

All you need to know about this video is within the timemarks 1:54 and 2:28.

That's all you need to watch. They tell the whole story. It's like Snooki with a political ticket.

I think they should have kept the setting more contemporary.
The whole "cultural mainstays of yesteryear in modern fish out of water situations" is a comedic dead-horse to me. I mean, Snooky, reeeally? Fer fucks sake, Hollywood.
Looks like the setup is them being raised in the Sisters of Mercy Orphanage so "fish out of water" would make more sense, and could account for Curly's innocence (as WP mentioned).

I also sort of get annoyed when they take things from the past and stick them in a clearly 'current time' setting. My overall preference is for a movie to be designed in such a way as to be relatively 'timeless'. When you make a movie in such a way that it constantly spotlights a subject or idea from a very specific modern time period then it becomes VERY obvious and then the show becomes dated very quickly as time goes on. The end result is that a good movie that would have otherwise been a 'classic' ends up seeming very cheesy. I think the Stooges movie would have been better off avoiding that kind of thing. Just have the Stooges there, keep the setting vague and non-specific in terms of its period, and let the hijinks ensue.

That being said - I loved seeing Snookie get poked in the eyes... Give her a few triple-slaps while you're at it, Moe.

Do you have to be an asshole to make great stuff? (Blog Entry by dag)

Ah, no. There are no reasons why the discussion should end. It shouldn't. Feel free. Analyse Snooki and Steve Jobs and whomever you like till you're blue in the face. I'm just giving my two cents.

I do find it ironic that you appear to be defending our right to discuss, but downvoting people's comments who contribute to the discussion. Enjoy.

@kymbos a little gossip isn't so bad now and again. In fact, it's likely programmed into our genes to be gossipy. That said, there's nothing I find particularly wrong with a curiosity about what motivates certain individuals.

Sure we'll never know with absolute certainty all of the inner workings of Steve Jobs' mind (as you pointed out), but analyzing his life and behavior will surely grant some insights about what kind of person he was and in turn how said personality reflects humanity as a whole.

I don't appreciate your "I will never know" approach here. I doubt you'd have much support among people who study Shakespeare for that idea. And as much as it makes me twitch to admit it, even studying the life of someone as lavishly ignorant as 'Snooki' would bear fruits of wisdom in the right intellectual climate. I'm not saying you have to care about him or his life, but there is always something to be gained by studying and discussion.

"An unexamined life is not worth living" as Socrates would say. Are there reasons you didn't mention for why you are suggesting the discussion should end?

I have made it a point to never come close to watching any video where I would hear the actual voices of Snooki or anyone from that show. But I had to make an exception for Beavis and Butthead, this was pretty funny.

Snookie just hasn't experienced the adversity that will drive her to realize her greatness. She needs to be oppressed more. Also Paris Hilton. Sarah Palin had a reality show, right? Her too.
