I would say even 1% is WAY too many if the remaining 99% are going to look the other way.
For it to be only 1%, you have to consider those by-standing cops that let their 'brothers' be violent criminals as "good cops". I can't go that far, meaning it's more like >99% bad in my eyes.

Cops should get 'credit' for doing good things that are above and beyond what they are paid for, but not applauded for simply doing their job. That's a horrendous position we're in where people can honestly say that a person doing what they signed up and are paid for requires a parade or kudos...I'll give them only when they give the pay checks back.

With all the horrible shootings on tape recently with people not understanding that police officers operate in 'survival' mode and shooting while last on the list has to be considered. People suggesting shoot him in the arm or leg have NEVER fired a handgun ever.

This is an instance where I thought he should have shot him and he didn't probably motivated by all the current police hate that he didn't want to be a part of.

I was especially impressed close to the end where the suspect stopped but left his hand in his pocket. I would have definitely shot him at that point.

I'm pretty sure that when you ask the citizens in a warn torn country where guns are actually a requisite to survival what they feel about people carrying guns out in the open and i'll bet they don't like it either. They just have to do it. You, on the other hand, carrying one in USA don't actually need it. If you open carry, you just like to scare people.

The whole "i'm allowed to do what i want" theme goes out the window when the symbol in question actually is designed to kill living things. I had to think hard what is the difference between other freedoms, say, gay pride parade. You have to just accept it no matter what you think about it. One could say the same about freedom to carry guns but that's where i draw the line: does it kill you or not. If it doesn't, deal with it and move on. If it does, remove it from the public. Not against guns in the privacy of your own home but they DO NOT belong to streets unless they are carried by a professional.

And no, i don't trust the law enforcement blindly but they enforce laws that we have allowed our representatives to put in place.. if you have a problem with laws, you take it where the laws are made, not to the people enforcing them... And definitely you don't scare everyone else getting one either, which this "open carry activism" WILL lead to: you see guns out in the open, "I think need one now just to pop to get some milk, better get my AK".. Having more guns will just leave to more violence, that is a fact that is definitely shown in study after study. The way non-carrying citizens react to this should be a clear sign: society does NOT want that. Isn't that enough reason to stop?

Carrying a gun and walking up and down the street. Should be in jail for two days or getting treatment in an institute, IMHO. Open carry are CRAZY, mentally not balanced individuals, period. No one needs to parade with their gun unless they have some obsession about using the damn thing (or it's sexual). But then again, i come from sensible place on earth with strict and very practical gun laws (no open carry, concealment only allowed for professionals)

I completely understand both sides of the pro/anti-gun standpoint. I could make valid arguments for either side, but in the end I'm relatively certain everyone wants to live in safety.

Just so it's clear, if a dude scanned his junk and sent it to people he'd probably be arrested too. Article 175 of the Japanese legal code prohibits the distribution of "indecent" materials which has traditionally been interpreted to mean "porn" and that's probably how the police are viewing this case--as porn distribution.

Also, those penis parades are fertility festivals and they have vagina counterparts. Do a Google image search for "Hime no miya matsuri" and prepare to have your mind blown at the complete lack of hang-ups Japanese people have about genitalia.

Therefore, it's basically a legal issue, not a cultural one. Because Japan's constitution technically does not allow censorship (Article 21) this lady might have a case if she can convince the courts that she's engaged in art and not commerce. Then again, the courts here are total crap shoots and I sometimes think you'd have a better chance of finding justice in some 3rd world kangaroo court than the Japanese court system.
