Prosecutors Say Donald Trump Committed a Crime

Mystic95Z says...

Somewhere in the 105 to 110 range at minimum, bet money ole Donny doesn't even come close. He thinks he is a genius but pretty much everyone knows how much of a moron he is at this point.

Lion King - Live Action Teaser

ChaosEngine says...

Yeah, this.

I guess it’s a bit harsh to judge this from just a teaser but....

This looks like a shot for shot remake. Financially? Genius move.

Artistic? Yawn. If you’re gonna redo the Lion King, do something interesting with it; like remove all the dialogue or something. I mean, I get why they don’t do that, but this holds almost no interest for me and it’s only “almost” because I’m curious to see John Oliver in it.

The Predator | Official Trailer

ChaosEngine says...

I know I'm in a minority here, but I liked Iron Man 3, and he wrote the screenplay for Last Action Hero, not the story and the screenplay was fine for what it was (come on... Ahnold as Hamlet? That was genius!! ).

As a counter, I would say Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and The Nice Guys... both of which are excellent.

Basically... this

It won't be as good as the original Predator, but that's like refusing to paint 'cos it won't be the Mona Lisa.

No offense, but he also wrote and directed Iron Man 3, as well as wrote Last Action Hero.

FOX's take on border separations

The twist to try to blame Obama for this is pure evil genius. Had to watch a second time to catch that trick.

This is actually a pretty interesting video overall, just happens to be a video of an evil asshole and his friends and guests.

Basically the radical Trumpist position is that it is OK to hurt children (or anyone) for a political cause and it is everybody elses (ie democrats) fault that they dont respond to blackmail faster.

I think its a shame these videos get downvoted so readily. Not quite the holocaust, but enough of a warning.

Personally, the only one I care about is Weinstein, because he indirectly had a hand in some of my favourite movies.

Gibson, meh... I can happily go the rest of my life without seeing anything he's done again.

Louis CK is a comic genius, but I won't be giving him any more money and Cosby....well, you're perfectly entitled to do that... although why you'd want to submit yourself to actually watching the Cosby show is beyond me. Either way, it won't do Bill any good while he's dying in a prison cell.

MilkmanDan said:

@ChaosEngine -- Meh, I don't care except to the extent that any actual assholery prevents or negatively influences future media with him in it. (Which to be fair sounds like it has actually happened...)

Now if you excuse me, I'm going to watch Mel Gibson and Weinstein movies, Louis CK standup, and reruns of the Cosby Show.

New Rule: Conspiracy Weary | Real Time with Bill Maher

newtboy says...

Gowdy, Ryan, Burr, McConnell all publicly supported it this week alone....pretty much just the dregs of the "freedom caucus" left crying fake, and even they are getting quiet. Republican leadership is seemingly, finally convinced of the obvious.

Better start figuring out why you love Pence and how impeachment was all a genius Republican plan to get Pence into power.

Bill Maher - Sen. Bernie Sanders

MilkmanDan says...

Thanks for the video reminding me of why (and how much) I like Bernie Sanders.

I liked what he had to say, but on the other hand I really think Maher was asking the right questions and I don't know that Bernie had great answers.

Shattering Trump's cult of personality is necessary. Maybe Trump will do that himself by just continuing to dodge and not follow through on anything, but we can't take that for granted because A) it is possible that he will put forth enough token effort into his campaign promises (wall, etc.) that he can simply blame lack of completion on "Democrat obstruction", and B) even if he does *nothing*, it has totally worked for him so far with regards to approval ratings in his base.

"Make America Great Again" was a stroke of genius, whether he happened on it by dumb luck or not. Obviously a good thing at face value, yet vague enough that anyone can attach their own baggage to it and feel like Trump is totally in sync with them. What do Democrats have to counter that? All of Bernie's offerings are campaign-promise-speak that can't happen unless there's a D in the White House and a majority in Congress. And no sure thing even then.

Like I said, I don't know that I think Bernie had great answers to those questions. I don't know that anybody else has better answers right now. I certainly don't. But I DO think that those questions are the right ones to be pondering over the next two years.
