Why Meat is the Best Worst Thing in the World
:45..."what can we do about it?
A: Have fewer children.
2:20 "we could nourish an additional 3.5 billion more people if we just ate the stuff we feed to animals"
.....except humans can't eat grasses, the main food source for cattle. Most of what we feed animals is not considered edible by humans. Organic free range chickens eat insects and slugs, is the narrator prepared to live on that to prove his point? I doubt it.
6:13 "burgers are the best food".
This proves this was made by non meat eaters with no knowledge of meat at all. Anyone who would contend a 1/4 pounder s the pinnacle of meat dishes should have their tongue removed so they don't spread more nonsense, they obviously aren't using it to taste food. ;-)

Rachel Maddow breaks down .. report on 'tender age' shelters
Let's call them what they are.
Concentration camps.
The first stages of Ethnic Cleansing.
I'd like to point to the following article via Slate.com
"As one of the few journalists permitted to tour the government’s new internment camp, about 40 miles from the southern border, the New York Times correspondent tried to be scrupulously fair. Forcing civilians to live behind barbed wire and armed guards was surely inhumane, and there was little shelter from the blazing summer heat. But on the other hand, the barracks were “clean as a whistle.” Detainees lazed in the grass, played chess, and swam in a makeshift pool. There were even workshops for arts and crafts, where good work could earn an “extra allotment of bread.” True, there had been some clashes in the camp’s first days—and officials, the reporter noted, had not allowed him to visit the disciplinary cells. But all in all, the correspondent noted in his July 1933 article, life at Dachau, the first concentration camp in Nazi Germany, had “settled into the organized routine of any penal institution.” "
Yes... he did it. If there were any doubts left, this should remove them. Trump officially put the United States on the same path as Nazi Germany.
What are you going to do about it?

"First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me."

Japanese Dragon Fire Fighter
I thought the same thing, but it is partially by design, apparently. To lay down water to drench the area.
But yeah. Bye bye grass.
Sure fucked up the grass, though.

Why?
Actually, this is not as daft as it looks.
If you water your lawn when it's hot, most of the water evaporates before the grass can absorb it. Depending on how long / heavy the rain is, watering it can still make sense.
Of course, that ignores how stupid the idea of lawns in hot countries are in the first place.
Why?
LA rain is deeply polluted, agreed? Whereas, they source their water form up North at the Hetch Hetchy (near Silicon Valley)...so he DOES carefully manicure/pamper his little plot of grass. freak!
Lawn Bubble
It's probably commercial turf not grown from scratch. To enable commercial turf to survive harvesting , transporation and installation, immediately after seeding a field they roll out a 20' wide biodegradeable plastic mesh which becomes incorporated into the sod as the grass grows. I've actually had a bubble like this beside my house, but much bigger, caused by a glitch in the irrigation system.
Surely some kind of lining laid under the turf?
Lawn Bubble
What in the world is that kind of turf? The only grass I'm familiar with that -might- form a dense enough root mass to do that would be zoysia. And you wouldn't want to be walking around on that in bare feet.
Spinout Close Call At Kaitoke Intersection
I would take that route out every time.
Turning to the right would require not only a larger change in direction from me, but also the risk of hitting oncoming traffic rather than a very slow moving/stationary vehicle or running off onto grass.
As for the over correction, that's someone driving in a very stressful situation and doing their best. Just about every car you can buy in the UK now has stability control that would have prevented that spin, and the amount of training it would take for someone to be able to reliably control a car without that stability control through a stressful and unexpected situation like that would be overly prohibitive.
The larger swerve required to go to the right of the car cutting in across the lane would have made the car a lot more unstable and a lot more likely to turn over.
Bad call to go to the right. She made the right choice, and less dangerous one and everyone walked away.
Buddy turns INTO the path of the oncoming car, then over-corrects into a spin-out. Terrific work.
