Jim Carrey reacts to Will Smith Chris Rock Slap @ The Oscars

JiggaJonson says...

exactly.

I'm not a celebrity, but that doesnt matter. pick a profession, ANY profession outside of boxing and MMA

"Do you want to work with someone who will potentially hit you in the face if you say the wrong thing?" Other actors (like jim carrey) will see his name on something and just not want to work with him.

Comments here about him (will smith) being fine and what not are probably right, but hollywood is also a very fickle place. People don't want to deal with that shit.

I agree with Jim Carrey that the standing ovation given to Will Smith was more offensive than the slap itself. Kudos to Chris Rock for taking the high road, and getting "on with the show" - shows a true professional. Glad his comedy tour tickets are selling out.

A lot of initial reports were calling this a punch, but it wasn't. It was a weak slap, I'm sure that Smith could have slapped much harder but that wasn't the point. It was still dumb. He should have just got on stage and asked Chris to apologize and hold up the show until he did. The dumbest part was Will actually laughed at the joke!

As far as DA prosecuting, you know he'd never see jail time, and for any monetary fine- he's already done to himself by negative reputation. Think of all the potential future roles he's lost in that 1 moment. Time to go buy an island and move there, cause he's now retired.

When the packaging is worth more than the product...

luxintenebris says...

was having a fine nap when the lady-of-the-house 'called out', "what the hell did you buy!"

stumbling out to see what the fuss was...thinking "sure, its a large whiteboard but hardly anything to get excited about"...soon understood the concern.

it was in a box the size that could enclose a kegerator! EX: https://tinyurl.com/3bz34rtn thought "this has to be a mistake."

nope. it fit in the very bottom of the container w/nothing else to buffer its shipment.

after the disappointment of not being a kegerator, or a mis-fulfillment of a dozen profitable whiteboards, the kids used the box as a toy car.

Zipline Delivery Drones Are Changing Medical Deliveries

newtboy says...

50 mile delivery radius (over flat terrain)
80mph max, 63mph cruise
4lb payload. I doubt there’s onboard cooling, but cool insulated boxes would be fine for maximum 45minute deliveries
Yes, weather is a factor…that’s why they’re setting up their own weather monitoring for higher resolution on local weather to fly around smaller systems and ground for big storms.

Yeah…it keeps getting better.
The national archives found out Trump had stolen documents and informed him and his staff that was criminal and had been referred to the DOJ. Eventually they returned over 15 boxes of documents pilfered from the whitehouse illegally, (no telling how many they still have, how many they burned (but some), and how many were shredded and flushed down his golden toilet (definitely some more)) including multiple classified documents that had been stored in totally unsecured locations.

But Biden made cold soup….look out.

Vote While It Counts

newtboy says...

Comment downvote for blatant lies

1) it specifically does not outlaw them, it explicitly allows them….it regulates and enforces them, so yes, in states with ID laws, it has mandatory ID to vote (but expands what ID is allowed beyond a drivers license.). Fail

2) It does not allow unattended drop boxes. where? Quote it. It requires more drop boxes than one for 3.5 million people, it does not (that I can find anywhere) allow unattended drop boxes any more than current laws which require them to be under surveillance and attended. It does not allow “vote gathering” liar, prove me wrong with quotes from the bill (you can’t)….side note, in California, the Republican Party itself set up multiple unauthorized drop boxes, unattended and without surveillance cameras even after being charged for breaking state laws, gathered those votes (discarding any that they didn’t want to submit, like any from people named Enrique and DeShawn, and possibly filling out any left unsealed…..Republicans are also the ones caught with campaigns directly harvesting ballots from nursing homes and admitting they filled out any race not filled out, voting for the Republican candidates even on Democrat’s ballots, so you know, those are Republican MOs, not Democratic, you can’t point to one actual example of Democrats doing that, maybe you can find some false OAN reports claiming that, but absolutely no evidence. Double Fail

3) dumb ass, it requires investigation by the state “ Additionally, the bill sets forth provisions related to election security, including by requiring states to conduct post-election audits for federal elections”. It also requires states to purchase voting machines with a paper receipt and record, so no more attempts like cyber ninjas to reprogram the machines to give the results they want with no physical record to prove their fraud. Super fail

4) where does it limit a states ability to challenge and audit itself? Quotes from the bill or admit you’re lying. It limits the states ability to gerrymander, to deny polling places for targeted populations, and to create biased and blatantly racist policies designed to obstruct certain populations from voting. It limits states ability to limit early voting. It actually REQUIRES states to audit every federal election you delusional fucking moron. Double dipsolitious fail

5) the scariest part for you (that you didn’t mention intentionally) is making Election Day a national holiday, because if poor working people get a paid day off to vote, guaranteed more will vote, and that’s disastrous for the right that freely admits it can only win elections if they get to choose the voters, the method of voting, and the outcome (I’m looking at Trump), and will never win any election ever again if all legal voters vote.

Such a sad, deluded little liar you’ve become, bob. You must really dislike yourself to do that to yourself. You’re worth an honest argument and position, bob. You let Trump twist you into this dishonest, “say anything”, hyper partisan angry little man…..you deserve better, and we all deserve better from you.

Always against the side of freedom, inclusion, equal opportunity, truth, honesty, fairness, civil rights, and civility.

newtboy jokingly says...

Oh, you sure got me, Garth.

Biden sure kicked his ass at the ballot box!
Whatever you would like to say about Biden, however you want to belittle him, you can’t escape the fact that he’s the guy that beat Trump by a landslide. Every time you insult him, you insult Orange Daddy a tiny bit more, cause old sleepy grandpa Joe mopped the floor with him. D’oh!

Biden’s made it an entire year without having anyone I’ve heard of in either his campaign or administration arrested and convicted for serious crimes on Biden’s behalf….how many of Trump’s people were convicts, or state witnesses, or under investigation that would lead to conviction by one year in? I don’t THINK it was triple digits that early, but it might have been.

Oh, and Biden didn’t try to overthrow democracy by coup….so, point set and match-Biden.

Re-Entry | A Short Film about Life and Death

When lighting a match goes wrong

fuzzyundies says...

This is literally EIA. He did almost everything wrong you could possibly do:

1. Drop the lit match into a pile of garbage while focusing on the burning box of matches.
2. Piling dry cardboard onto the burning garbage as if somehow that would smother it.
3. Repeatedly fanning the flames with a heavy blanket instead of trying to smother the flames and cut off oxygen.
4. Hitting a large uncontrolled pile of burning materials with a small amount of water that really just served to scatter the burning materials instead of putting them out.

I need to buy a new fire extinguisher. I actually just bought one for the kitchen (which specifically smothers without scattering grease or oil) but the package was stolen out of the mail room before I could pick it up. /rant

RITTENHOUSE, Law, Verdict

JiggaJonson says...

I only watched the court proceedings. Like I said, I hope he's in your neighborhood not mine @bobknight33 I don't want to get Rittenhoused, which is apparently legal.

I'm surprised he didn't feel like he would lose his life if the court took it. But just like that poor kid who got boxed in by a truck, he was running, so...

Remember Kirk Hartle? He’s the Republican Nevada man whose dead wife’s ballot was used to vote last year. The poster boy for voter fraud, claiming his wife’s ballot had been stolen (twice) and used to vote in Nevada elections, twice. For weeks he was trotted out as the proof of widespread liberal voter fraud, they clearly stole ballots and fraudulently used them to stuff ballot boxes.

He plead guilty to reduced charges of voting more than once in an election, sentenced today to one year probation and $2000 fine. Your poster boy turns out to be the perpetrator. D’oh! Who could have seen that coming? (Everyone)

Do you think that’s a harsh enough sentence? Consider he actually did it twice.
If he were a Democrat doing the same thing, rigging elections and accusing Republicans of being the culprits in a national disinformation campaign, would you accept such a weak slap on the wrist? Basically selling extra votes for $1000 a piece?

Amazing Amazon Box

Indoor Tornado

psycop says...

The creator put some answers in the comments:

How the heck did i make it?

The living room of my father's place had a very strong ceiling fan, which could go in reverse. Instead of blowing air down, it would pull the air up. That would create an updraft strong enough to sustain the vortex. Next, I had a box fan and a blanket set up to redirect the air flow so it rotated around the center of the room. You can see it as the dark blue object in the back right. After the fans were turned on, I laid out an old dark red bed sheet with a small PVC pipe underneath it connected to a fog machine. The bed sheet allowed the fog to gently seep through and get pulled into the vortex, as opposed to being blasted out of the pipe. And then it was all a matter of letting the ceiling fan's updraft and the box fan's rotation mix into a 10 ft tall indoor tornado!!
