So Lann and I got married..

Nicki and Lann

It's true. We got married on the 19th of May here in Denmark, with a little private ceremony. Obviously we did it at the courthouse, since none of us are religious, which made the whole thing feel like a vegas wedding, without the Elvises.

A little backstory, for those that care.

We started talking over Videosift first back in September 2009 and it just grew from there. Started chatting on messenger, facebook and then skype. She came over to visit me last year in August 2010 the day before my birthday even. We stayed by each other's side until her tourist visa ran out three months later and had already by those three months decided that we wanted to stay together forever and ever. Or at least on a more permanent basis. After some time apart (stupid danish immigration rules) she came back in the end of april and now we've been together since.

We're both very levelheaded about getting married, no huge ceremony, no brass band playing, just a cozy thing that cement our relationship. And we're both very happy about it.

Anyways, lann set up a flickr album of a bunch of pictures from our wedding and stuff.

How are Lann's sandwiches, Gwiz? She looks like she could make a superb sandwich and starch a collar like a mother fucker.

Congratulations a thousand times. I couldn't think of a better match.

Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag. (show it anyway)

As far as I know - this is in fact the very first VideoSift origin wedding. There were a couple of times in the past where I thought it might happen - but you guys won.

I wish you both all the best - I'm looking forward to the first VideoSift sourced babby - though there may be a few of those already. @rottenseed gets around.

Well congratulations you two! This is soo sweet!

So we can commence speculation on whether the firstborn will be a Gann or a Lwiz, somebody start a baby pool!

Wishing you both all the best in the future!!

I assume this means every person here is going to meet a sifter and fall in love and get married... EXCEPT MEEEEEEEEEE FOREVERALONE.JPG

It's cool, I'm gonna marry Stephen Fry or Derren Brown anyway.

Congratulations to you both.

So very cool! Having two great sifters coming together in marriage. It's great to see you guys enjoying life! I recommend Siftbot for the name of your first child.

Yay! Congrats! What a wonderful story. I was away from the sift for a couple days and this is a great thing to come back to.

Excellent wedding photos, btw! Here's to a long, wonderful life together with much happiness and love!

Ornthoron says...

Why didn't you marry in your 5 year old VideoSift T-shirts?

DISAPPOINTED!

Nah, congrats anyway. And you are a pefect example of how happy one can be with a secular wedding! Don't let the Bridezillas rule your life!

lann, you're soooo HOT in these photos ... or should I say you were, until that danish prick grew on you someone, marry me, quick!

Me too, but you're a guy. I want an attractive woman.

EDD says...

WAT.

All these years I wasn't even sure about your gender, Lann (OK, I'll be honest, I was convinced you were a dude because of that old commando-kitty avatar of yours - because we all know girls hate guns n stuff, rite?), but this? Whoa. Best news I've heard in ever. Congrats to both of yous, you little rascals!

I have a solution to both your problems, but I'm not sure you're gonna like it...

Eeek, as usual, I am very late! But I just started kinjda sifting again. Anyway!

CONGRATS!!!!

Are you going to stay in Denmark? Or move to US? I know a little about stupid US immigration laws, since I had to get a fiancee visa to come over to US in the first place to marry Net. And that was before 9/11.. I do not know how easy/hard it the other way around.

We're gonna stay in Denmark first off, but will probably move to the states later. Danish immigration laws are stupid too..

Do you know whereabouts? It is a big country, almost as big as Denmark! We have lots of colors haired people in Austin, pretty young city with a big music history and not like Hollywood. Keep Austin Weird is the city mantra!

No plans yet. Depends on jobs, really. I gotta find somewhere I can make videogames.
