Getting the News on the Sift

Brian posted a good long post about the mainstream media online news players, one thing they all have in common is that they are all set up so that you have to watch it on their website, and you have to sit through all the advertisments..wow it's just like TV!...but on your computer...bah malarkey.

Now.. if these sites offered embed codes for every clip, I would congratulate them on figuring out the internet and be more likely to share their clips. Until then communities like the Sift will have to make due with what we got.  Most media outlets have a youtube page, some of them provide embeds. Here is a list of websites you might want to consider when looking to post news.

AlJazeera English - Solid News Clips, updated Often

Gallup News - Just Polls

PBS - Documentaries, NOW, Moyers etc..

CBC Marketplace

CBS - Mostly CBS promos not enough news.

BBC News - Perfect...doh no embeds!

The Real News - Indy TV

Democracy Now - More Indy TV

Also here is an impressive list of local NBC affiliates on the Youtube.

here is an AP video feed from livevideo.com, all embeddable, updates very often

There are plenty of sources for news out there.
