Scientologists Accost Cameraman

gorgonheapsays...

Ok, so I'll admit I have doubts about scientology but the guy holding the camera is just being a dick. It's one thing to ask sincere questions about anothers faith, you've crossed a line when it turns into a studied interogation that attacks the core of that religion. No I know I'll probably get flak for this but has anyone researched the history of the Catholic church? It has more then it's fair share of a dark and bloody past. But if I go out and attack it the way he did, I'm not shedding any light on a subject, I'm not accomplishing any objective. I'm going out there and upsetting people by telling them about what some bad people in their church have done. At any rate this guy is just being a prick and I don't blame those guys for getting upset.

Scientology scares the crap out of me. lol
Not sure who the "reporter" is but he she have approched this a little more intelligently. But to his credit everything gets heated and emotional and it starts to become attacks back and forth.
That is what makes a good reporter and a bad one...
Scientology is a look like o.j. killing his wife. Everyone knows he did it and his story is crap...

One thing is getting upset, but listen to what these people are saying, in addition to being insane enough to follow him, they have even managed to MISINTERPRET Hubbard completely.

Notice how the guy says "What are your crimes?" over and over? And justifies the question with "Anyone that attack Scientology has crimes to hide.. etc" Well, it so happens that Hubbard said that same thing, except when he said it, he meant it more like "EVERYONE has a past, dig up some shit and discredit them, do whatever it takes", he didnt actually expect you to be stupid enough to ask. I guess he, just like jesus and other religion-starters gravely over-estimated his followers

Some great closeups of some totally creepy guys. All ad hominem attacks from the three guys. The cameraman's not the best debater, but he definitely doesn't get any material responses. "What are you afraid of!" "What have YOU done!" "What are YOUR crimes!" Whoa.

bamdrewsays...

why's he gotta enturbulate these creepy assholes? hes got them all enturbulated!

to his credit i thought they came off as pretty insane, aggressively confronting him, staring at him, following him around, asking the same nonsense question,... thats the funny thing about scientology, because you can't say anything bad about it or have friends or relatives that say anything bad about it the followers have this distilled lack of critical analysis, and any crazy nonsense pulled from scientology dogma makes perfect sense to them and only them.

The one thing Scientology teaches is how to be a better, more effective jerk. This was always 3 on 1, and none of the 3 was capable of answering a single question, only attacking the person who was trying to videotape an event on a public street. Everything the cameraman talked about in verifiable, and they attacked him. They protested in front of his home, while he is simply trying to cover a public event on a public street.

These people are dangerous members of a harmful cult.

Yah its important to note that the camra man was on publick property at all times so by law the other people had no right to tell him to stop filiming if the scientolagist thing was on private property and thay didnot close publick roads for it then thay would be in there right to ask the camraman to leave.

ShBmsays...

I didn't see the camera guy do anything. First, they had those rent-a-cops telling him to get off public property (wouldn't the permit just be so they could lawfully be there? not to make it a private party). Then, some crazies started harassing him.

gorgonheapsays...

Your right BicycleRepairMan, I found the scientologists attacks very odd. Most people would defend their religion, but trying to accuse the attacker by asking who they've killed or what the're hiding seems over the top. Regardless of the poorly formed reasons the interigator in this video used, Scientology keeps getting creepier and creepier

choggiesays...

The religion has the inherent flaw that all religions have:
The interpretation, implementation, and proselytizing of the same, by bi-pedal Hominoidea.

Upvote for sci-fi writers inventing religions! Better than bi-polar preverts, and megalomaniac egobots.

spoco2says...

To those saying he's being a prick... how is he being a prick... he's come to a public road for a 'Everyone Welcome' public gathering of Scientologists and they start verbally attacking him with the nonsensical 'what have you done', 'you look like a child molestor'.

Now, I know that they know him via his xenu.net site, and they just plain don't like him, hence the combativeness, but them saying that he's scared, and he's hiding something is merely a reflection on them. If they had nothing to hide they'd let him come into their party and film all he wants, surely he'd find nothing untoward at all... surely? Right?

Well... obviously no, as they really, really don't want him filming.

Scientology IS NOT A RELIGION. It's a complete money making, brain washing hoax created by a poor science fiction writer to make a lot of money... End of story.
