now I know why bears are in the circus - amazing talent!

(also really impressive anti-shaky-cam filter, if that's what the black borders are from the original video... someone should apply that to the Bourne Ultimatum)

Maybe the bear enjoys it, who knows. Personally, I hate seeing animals that have been "trained" to do "stuff" for the gratification and reward of their trainers, and gawping humans. It's just my opinion, but the days of animals having to do such things should be long past.

he definitely looks like hes having fun. My dogs are "trained" to do "stuff" as well, but sometimes when they are just in the yard by themselves, I see them doing that "stuff" without me there or that I'm even watching from inside. They actually like to do some of the stuff I taught them with each other. Animals like this are a lot smarter than we give them credit.

I especially liked the part where it looked as if the bear was going to fight of the cameraman with the chair.
Holy crap, that's some amazing training. Planet of the apes my ass. Just wait until he learns to attach razorblades to that hoop, then we're all fucked.

You give an animal a task and he is happy when he completes it, just like humans. We all have those pathways in our brain to reward for beneficial behavior. Of course food is used to give that useless action a benefit. The dexterity is what baffles me, never knew bears can have such control.

Russians are super weird with their animals. Especially in the provincial areas and pretty much all throughout Siberia, training bears is a huge, messy affair that needs to be banned, big time.
