More right wing agit-prop from the uber-militarized Clancy universe.

What the hell, Further proof that there are people that just don't get it.

I don't know if this is written by Tom Clancy, Ubisoft, or some outside party but this is completely *WTF

Since when did those of us who are against big corporations become the terrorists?

EMPIREsays...

let's not jump to conclusions... i mean, there is a big difference between a protester, and someone who marches into an office building with armed thugs and bombs the place.

There was no comparison between the two.

LukinStonesays...

This really isn't much of a surprise, considering the Rainbow Six universe. In the book, the bad guys are crazed lefty eco-terrorists.

I lost interest in the Rainbow Six games when they dumbed down the planning element, becoming yet another twitchy shooter...is it just me, or are we seeing a ton of game previews that are all cinematic, no gameplay, recently?

Phreezdrydsays...

It looks like this game was in production before OWS, but portrays an extreme terrorist group of so called patriots with an as yet unrevealed agenda, other than blowing things up. A response from militant nutjobs to bank bailouts, etc. I think this looks more like some extreme members of the tea party, as you might remember they showed up with lots of guns and attitude.

The plan is to set up the laws needed to take control. Provoke OWS or stage an event and say it was OWS. Then use the media to re-assure the public that they will be kept safe by arresting and detaining anyone vocal against the current status quo.

When there are internal domestic bombings, people will vote for protection not freedom. They will welcome wire taps and drones in the streets.

HugeJerksays...

I don't see the plot as pointing directly at OWS... certainly using the current reasons that a large group of people have for distrusting the government and corporations. It's not unheard of for violent groups to seize upon peoples anger and use it to recruit or fund raise. The developers are just using current sentiment as a background device to make the story line appear more relevant.

I gave up on Clancy when I was 16. I don't remember which book it was but there was a scene at the start where two full grown US military spook types meet in a bar somewhere in SE Asia, Bangkok maybe. They have a 'some damn fool said you were the best' type conversation then start good naturedly sparring with their knives, as you do. He describes the 'whirling, twisting' playfight -- for AGES (with a full on army boner no doubt).

Then he adds that a crowd (of natives) had gathered and were whooping and cheering them on delightedly. When the boys (let's call them JAKE and CLINT) have got it out of their system the crowd disperse, sad the fun is over. Then our heroes get back to planning who the US gov wants them to go and assassinate.

Clancy deals in right wing wet dreams. Interesting that his lot are starting to sell the same bullshit but now against US citizens - OWS. Couldn't play this game though. Pretending to shoot Castro in the head at the start of Black Ops made me feel queasy already. I mean Castro is a royal dick but millions of kids being taught to shoot real people by intellectually and morally questionable GAMES PRODUCERS?

All a bit dark.

You mean the ONE guy who ONE time expressed his 2nd Amendment rights and legally took a pistol (openly in a holster) to a meeting? As opposed to this...

OWS was (and stil is) far more violent, radical, crazy, and lawless than the Tea Party ever was. Members of OWS are far more likely to engage in violence and subversive actions.

@Winstonfield_Pennypacker Thanks for displaying this website's bias expressed via a blatently crazy conspiracy theory - presented as one of the first things you can read on that page, no less.

"The plan was a simple one. The path to Obama’s second term requires that enough voters forget that our current economic woes are the fault of a failed President who enjoyed two years of having every single item on his wish-list passed by Congress. And so the idea was to create Occupy in order to give the MSM the cover they desired to spend every single day up until the election talking about greed and income inequality in order to blame both for the stagnant economy.

The hope was that by repeating this message incessantly, enough voters could be convinced that Wall Street, and by extension, evil Republicans, were to blame for our chronic unemployment, record deficits, and stillborn economic growth. President Obama who?"

.....what??

People taking to the streets to demonstrate - it's crazy, radical, violent and lawless.

Thanks for clearing that up winston.

As is typical with Prog-lib-dytes, this ignores the 400+ actual examples of craziness, radicalism, violence, and lawlessnes. Congratulations on flunking Common Sense 101 and Remedial Reading.

Of course Big Government is biased. Videosift is biased. CNN is biased. Fox is biased. MSN is biased. Now - at least you haven't flunked Remedial Reading like Drax, but you still flunk Common Sense 101. The bias of Big Government as a website is rather irrelevant compared to the CONTENT of the listing. Maybe you should - you know - actually read the 400+ independant news articles from the AP, NYT, CNN, NBC, Fox, and many other news outlet from which the unbiased and accurate list of OWS crimes was compiled. Your call. You can keep pretending that OWS was just a bunch of people 'taking to the streets' if you want. Fact and reality tells quite a different story though. But - as I say - facts and reality are foreign to the typical Prog-lib-dyte, so I wouldn't be surprised if you keep trying to ignore them.
