Louisville Woman Brought Into Courtroom Without Pants

First time shoplifting charge. The prosecutor wanted 75 days in jail. While the defendant was held for 3 days prior to court, she was denied pants and feminine hygiene products. Luckily she got a fair and reasonable judge.

I assume that she wasn't sucked through a dimensional rift or whatnot, so there will be quite a lot people who have come into contact with her during these three days. Would it be a stretch to also assume that none of them spoke up about this treatment?

Unfit to serve, the lot of 'em.

I couldn't find out, but I am assuming she possibly had on the pants and was trying to shoplift them. Alternatively, they might have lied and claimed she was a suicide risk so they could take them and humiliate her. Either way, they could have given her a pair for court instead of marching her up there in panties.

But how did she end up w/o pants in the first place?

If they served her a search warrant at her home they may have taken her into custody the way she was dressed at the time. Also she says there are other woman in the same situation so regardless of the reason this is a massive fail on the part of the jail (county i assume). Treating all people with dignity is important if you want a healthy society.

After rewatching it, it wasn't fully clear at the start, but you appear to be correct. She seems to have been picked up at home and they never let her get pants or gave her any.

Is the audio censored? It sounds like the volume drops out at some pretty choice moments throughout.

For example at 11:25:

"I'm going to ask you to, ah ...[inaudiable]... I think that's actually, probably, inappropriate, but..."

I don't think it is censored (possibly the complete drops are to redact names), but most of it is just not talking into the directional microphones.

That specific example you quoted? This is just hazarding a guess, but I think maybe she was going to encourage the lady to get a lawyer and consider a lawsuit. Then realized that that advice should probably NOT come from a judge. But that's just a guess.
