Wow - amazing that the pilot walked away from that one.
Shepppardsays...Not too sure what the pilot was thinking, even with my mediocre knowledge of flight and how it works, I could easily see that he entered into a slip.
He was waaaay too low to turn the chopper the way he did, and because the thrust was pointed away from the ground, it literally "slipped" out of the air for a few seconds, getting him danger close to the ground.
robbersdog49says...Apparently it was an engine failure.

rich_magnetsays...I don't know about slip, but it's obvious the machine lost attitude control. I would think that, even with a motor out, he should have been able to level the machine better than that. I can't tell where the motor out happens, however. He might have leveled and even auto-rotated a bit, though he certainly didn't come in very level.
antsays...*actionpack *fail *wtf
siftbotsays...Adding video to channels (Actionpack, Fail, Wtf) - requested by ant.
deathcowsays..."Both occupants in the helicopter managed to survive without any major injuries - literally walking away from the horrific-looking crash."
5 million bucks though...
