For all GAMERS out there: This is the Next Generation of Graphics! (Enjoy!)

bnsasays...

Long ago someone threw up the red flag about pre-rendering with Killzone. These were all shown live on a PS3 at the E-3 back in April to demonstrate that everything you see is really what you get, including the opening and the ending of this video clip! Keep in mind this video quality doesn't do it justice but just imagine how far we've come... and where we're going... :-)

boomsays...

very nice montage... although those are mostly pre-rendered cut-scenes... any company even sony can easily make a pre-rendered cut-scene and slap in a hud on the screen and say its real time... there were only a couple games that were shown running on "ps3" hardware... killzone was not one of them.... reason why sony didn't do so hot at e3 this year... no proof.

Lethinsays...

Im with snake, i've watched sony say things and never deliver, if the games DO look like that when the system launches and plays anything CLOSE to how those cut-scenes did then omg. however, i've seen a lot of the videos presented about the PS3 and so far its all the same things "Watch as we have less then 2 things on screen but look how Amazing they look!" blah.

cobaltsays...

Even if they are rendered using the game engine, if there is no AI calculations going on then you get a massive performance boost. I'm not sure what to make of these scenes from an in game point of veiw but as trailers they are excellent. The last one especially. I really want to know what that game is because it looks like just my thing. (I even drew a similar character for a fantasy at competition a few months back lol)

mysdrialsays...

I remember trailers like this for the PS2 and the Xbox (not the 360, the original)

The only thing there I'd believe was really in-game was the lack-luster gameplay after the shootout in the first part, which like not even top of the line shooter graphics.

Wow... What's funny is how things go full circle... Not only did I post this but I also worked on the early stages of the cell technology at SONY in San Antonio, Texas (up until they shut down the plant) :-(

At the time, we were just creating the cell technology and the PS3 was to be the launch of this new technology that was "supposed to change the world" the way cell phones and the internet did... At least that's what the hope was.

Don't know if that will happen with the yields being so low... I guess time will tell. I do know it's taken 6 years so far to make. :-/

Thanks for posting the links Dag & Conan! :-)

(Even more ironic... I work at INTEL now and my work is also helping change the world) Muhahahaha... *sigh*
