Mortimersays...Nice. Only ones I had/recognized were Blue Max, Impossible Mission, Spy Vs. Spy, and Summer Games. But what about The Hobbit? Also, there was some game where you flew a chopper underground, I believe, to rescue people and bring them back to a rescue site. My C64 is in the rafters of my parents garage. Wonder if it'd still work after 15+ years of summers at 110° - 120°F.
deathcowsays...nice.. I thik I had them all except the manic mansion or whatever it was... paradroid was great... I think I saw 7 cities of gold in there, but not sure. The chopper underground was called fort apocalypse IIRC, another great game ,I remember loading that one off a cassette tape! I had some device ?icepick? that let you freeze a c64 at any point and save the entire memory contents... it was great for duping crap.
Nebosukesays...It's great that ParaDroid is still around, as FreeDroid Classic.
Was that last game Blaster Master?
Wolandsays...From the YouTube comments:
In order, the games are: Archon, Armalyte, Blue Max, Boulder Dash, Bubble Bobble, Defender of the Crown, Delta, Hawkeye, Hero, Hover Bovver, Impossible Mission, International Soccer, Jumpman, Lady Tut, Last Ninja 2, Lode Runner, Maniac Mansion, Microprose Soccer, Paradroid, Pirates, Raid Over Moscow, Spy vs. Spy, Summer Games, Bards Tale 2? (not sure), Thrust, Turrican, Wizball, Turrican 2.
westysays...Turican was amazing
Mortimersays...Fort Apocalypse. Ahh, yes. That's the one.
chiboukisays...Plaid 90% of them,
I ARE (almost) ULTIMATE NERD!
Zifnabsays...awww no M.U.L.E.!
Wolandsays...Here you go Zifnab:

I, too, was bummed not to see M.U.L.E. included.
SlipperyPetesays...raid over moscow!
Fedquipsays...Awesome, I loved Archon (totally forgot about it until this vid) Impossible Mission and Jumpman were staples in our house.
My faves back in the day also included Beachhead, GI JOE!, Space Taxi, squirm and a bunch of other ones I can picture in my head but regrettably forget.
berticussays...That soundbyte "stay a while, stay... forever!" is burned deep into my memory.
loorissays...H.E.R.O. omg I had it on Atari 2600!! Didn't know there was a C=64 version, nor I did now there was Bubble Bobble, though I should've suspected it.
what's the ninja game? I had it and I don't remember the name! (ok "Last Ninja 2", I've read)
GREAT Microprose Soccer, one of my favourite games ever! The other soccer game sucked.
I loved two games my cousin had, but I don't know the original name because they were pirated (back when it was legal).
In one (platform) you were a knight (Lancelot?) and wandered around a strange forest-like world, picked up some "things" and tried to avoid bad plants, or things like that. It was NOT the game called "Lancelot"
Another one, called "Production" but pirated games always changed the name, you were a yellow little bird, it had fixed screens, and you - IIRC - weren't required to complete a screen to move to the next one. There were many doors you could choose.
I would dearly love to play these games, anybody got an hint, please?
videosiftbannedmesays...looris: It sounds like the first one might be Forbidden Forest.
As for the second one, no clue.
T-mansays...Ditto on M.U.L.E. Classic game. Elite would have been cool, too.
H0Jusays...Loved these games. Before the days of hard disks, I had hundreds of 5.25 floppies, notched, for double capacity!
Kids now a days are spoiled with their tera-byte hard drives.
loorissays...it wasn't Forbidden Forest, it was am adventure PLATFORM, and graphics were better.
adventure platform, well, you can think about a mix between ghoul'n'ghost and flashback.
karaidlsays...Nothing makes me feel younger than reading over all your comments.
loorissays...lol I sometimes wonder on how it's strange that new kids play with the Wii and would probably don't even understand old games.
deathcowsays...Karaidl, so you dont remember the era when it was all a computer could do to keep up with a mouse being moved around on the desktop?
aidossays...so many memories flooding back. Raid was one of my all time favourites. oh for a game with different gameplay on each level this day in age.
viewer_999says...Doesn't anyone use emulators here?

I played a game of M.U.L.E. just a few months ago, followed by some Doriath and Halley Project. Good stuff. Did not know about online M.U.L.E. or FreeDroid though, thanks for the links!
Edit: add to that M.A.M.E. for the old arcade stuff too.
bigbikemansays...Holy crap that brings back some memories.
spoco2says...Ahh, now I have to find me a collection o' Spectrum games from the day, as I didn't have me no stinkin' C64!
spoco2says...Ok, fine so there were no Spectrum videos on the sift, so I found one, and now it's posted here... To counter this C64 reminicsing, here's a Sinclair ZX Spectrum trip down memory lane
MINKsays...BBC MICRO RULEZ!
loorissays...unfortunatly MacMAME sucks so hard it could be used to dry a lake.
aidossays...and if you want something truly oldskool....
loorissays...love it!
