Colbert visits Right Wing propaganda guru Frank Luntz pt. 2

Yeah but we shouldn't have a video with ten parts as ten posts...
I think it would get to be a bloat very fast.

I thought this only had two parts ?

I have never seen anyone do ten parts, three is the most I have seen. If someone had the thought to do multiples on the scale you mentioned they would be set straight.

In the words of Forrest Gump " that's all I have to say about that "

@BoneRemake I'm just saying that, as a matter of practice, it seems more appropriate to have one video = one sift

So then you are just vaguely telling others what to do ? after understanding your point I do not understand why it was brought to discussion. Was the point of that to make it a rule ? or bring light to the issue ? You offer your opinion, which is digested and respected, but after that fact, that is all it is, is opinion. Because as of now I know of no videosift ruling that states you are not allowed to do so. With all that being said the base of the paragraph, I wanted to know is what do you want to be done about it ?

**editors note: Not to edit what I said above, I understand by discussing it you are bringing light to it, but I think a sift poll or talking through a direct sift talk post would be best to get a concrete solution of terms.

@JiggaJonson

I think it should be left up to the poster.
If part two doesn't get enough votes--it doesn't get sifted--simple as that. If the original is in more than one part, and the sifter wants the whole thing on Videosift, then so be it.

As far as the bloat factor goes--I think you overestimate the attention span of the average sifter. I know I would get bored long before I reached the last of a ten part series.

It cracks me up that the idea of "bloat" gets people's undies in an uproar.

There is so much crap here on the Sift. An extra vid here or there doesn't matter.

Have you seen shinyblurry's pqueue? 26 videos with a cumulative vote count of -1*.

I would return this, but I have a sneaking suspicion it is catching more upvotes here. Which pleases me -- I loved these vids.

*I didn't actually add them up. It amuses me to think of a negative total.

@BoneRemake
What part of what I said was vague when you yourself said: "I understand by discussing it you are bringing light to it, but I think a sift poll or talking through a direct sift talk post would be best."

And the purpose is just that, I want it discussed; hence the * discuss invocation. I personally don't like the practice of sifting part 2 and so on. I think it just makes it that much harder to sift if part 1-2-3 of something make it into the top of the unsifted videos.

But no I didn't want to post a sifttalk at the moment because I worry that if a rule is made it will swing away from my favor. For now a discussion is satisfactory until I can politick my way into having it honestly considered.
