Canadian principal wrestles student to the ground

Tough call. If he really thought the kid had just taken an upskirt pic or something like that, he had to get the cellphone before the punk could send out the pics.

Depends on the evidence, I guess, which we don't get to see in the video.

Graham Creighton Jr. High is about a ten minute walk from where I grew up.
The kind of crap where students think it's okay to push (kick/slap/assault etc.) teachers has been going on there for years. It is not okay. The kid should not have tried to run away from the principal when he was asked to stop, nor should he have tried to push the principal or tried to get away.

The kid in the video is my friend's cousin.
When I asked my friend about this last night he said "Knowing my cousin, he probably deserved it."

I'm not sure I understand why people are taking up for the principal and condemning the kid and not the other way around? This was reasonably and observably a violent abuse of power. This principal is a civil servant. His duties are to serve the public interests in education. His duties are NOT to act as police officer and give kids concussions.

If this kid was in fact taking upskirt photos on his cell, that doesn't automatically award the civil servant a right to bash the kids head on the floor. Let's be reasonable. Kids do stupid shit. I understand they need to be punished, but it should be something according to their bad doings. I hate it when adults take an opportunity to exact some street justice on a kid because the kid is smaller than they are, and then when the kid gets all jacked up the adults say "he had it coming."
