Video Flagged Dead

Cameraman films crash then goes to the rescue.

Skip to 3.01 for a clearer picture of the crash.
From a local newspaper: An Auckland cameraman who filmed yesterday's Viaduct helicopter crash and then was among the first to help save pilot Greg Gribble says he did not think twice about running toward the wreckage.
Gribble was attempting to erect the Telecom Christmas tree when the accident happened, around 10.30am on Auckland's busy Viaduct Harbour.

"I just ran in," freelance cameraman Murray Job says.

"I just wanted to make sure, seeing it didn't burst into flame as soon as it hit the ground, I felt I had just to get in there and see if we can get the guy out.

His cameras caught the crucial moment of the crash in which a rotor blade struck a cable hanging from under the helicopter.

As the original video has completely overshadowed this one (which in my opinion gives a more close-up & therefore BETTER view of what happened)......this vid isn't getting the attention it deserves, so:-

Imagine spending your whole career filming boring things, then while running for two seconds to a better vantage point, a helicopter crashes just metres behind you. I'd be kicking myself for years.

I'm very certain this isn't the case, but it looks like it landed on someone. Looks like a reflective vest and a bloody arm under the wreck.

It didn't. The only injury was a small graze on the pilot's hand, and possibly a few pairs of ruined underwear

How is that guy supposed to land or maneuver that chopper with that cable attached and very little slack in it? I don't see how he could possibly land or even get low enough to detach that cable. Looks like it'd be just long enough to hit the ground running straight down.

Yea that's what I thought too. Everyone was helping the old guy, then I got quite a shock when I saw the body looking thing under the chopper.
