From a local newspaper: An Auckland cameraman who filmed yesterday's Viaduct helicopter crash and then was among the first to help save pilot Greg Gribble says he did not think twice about running toward the wreckage.
Gribble was attempting to erect the Telecom Christmas tree when the accident happened, around 10.30am on Auckland's busy Viaduct Harbour.

"I just ran in," freelance cameraman Murray Job says.

"I just wanted to make sure, seeing it didn't burst into flame as soon as it hit the ground, I felt I had just to get in there and see if we can get the guy out.

His cameras caught the crucial moment of the crash in which a rotor blade struck a cable hanging from under the helicopter.
