I am actually very surprised by this. The ability to edit tags was provided to correct those who misuse them (for spam or ads) or help those who fail to sufficiently describe a video.

It was not added so each individual could exercise his/her own brand of creative control where he/she sees fit. As I said when announcing this feature... great power, great responsibility. It's not responsible to edit tags just because you don't like the way they look at you. For shame. Tsk, tsk.

I would say that everyone should leave tagomedy alone unless the tags are utterly useless in helping the community avoid dupes. (In this case, a tagodramatic line of only "Thwack!, thwack!, thwack!" would have merited some heavy editing).

Your original tags were useful, fun, and utterly black-hearted. The first edit did nothing but repeat terms already in the title. My edit merely went off onto an unfortunate tangent about good Inuit eats.

Restore the original tagomedy!

I thought it was priceless... and then got confused to see the ensuing debate.

I concur with avoiding arbitrary tag edits - heck, if it's an "active" user, I prefer to send a message through their profile page if I disagree rather than doing it myself. On the other hand, if it's an "inactive" user with misleading/vague/useless tags, I reserve the right to run in and improve them a la lucky's "great responsibility" style.
