YouTube Description: After seeing an amazing YouTube video of a magic trick, Ellen invited illusionist Eric Ross to make his television debut. His tricks left Ellen speechless.

Ellen is one of the best shows on TV. She gives to people, cares about animals and is one of the nicest people I have ever seen. She always ends her show with "be kind to one another". Class act.

Not to cast any dispersions on what you have to say about Ellen (not knowing much about her, she always seems pretty genuine and funny), but let's be clear:

Jerry Springer ended his shows with "Take care of yourselves, and each other." Wouldn't you say he's also a "class act?"

lol never knew that about Jerry. (Never watched his show) Really I had no idea about Ellen for a loooong time, and while I know she's "working" I'm telling you once I started watching and seeing the nice things she does for people (and ratings I'm sure) giveaways, helping people who are in need, reuniting military familys (and usually giving them money too).

She owns an animal rescue and that alone tells me more about her than anything else. But I do see your point. Watch the show a few times, its good!! (except I fast fwd through the dancing at the begining)

Is this considered impressive? I'm not a magic nerd nor very good at figuring out the tricks, but I think I know how he did just about everything he did. He also needs a patter writer and to drop the slightly egotistical "make it better" shtick.

It's not particularly impressive no, just some magician the general public took a liking to and Ellen decided to host, whom is really no better judge of impressive magic than any other regular joe, so her being speechless isn't a feat.

He's not really that talented, he does the tricks cleanly enough but nothing to right home about and none of them really are unique. The "better" thing is indeed very lame, considering some of his "better" versions are well established tricks. Bit insulting trying to claim those.

Anyway, if you're new to magic, as most people are, this would be a good 6mins of entertainment.

That "say stop while I zip through the cards" trick is as old as the hills. Any decent slight of hand talent can give you the same card any time he wants. The magic marker red card and black card were put on back stage, then he just "blanks" it out with some flesh-coloured makeup and wipes it off in front of her.

OK, that last illusion was actually quite impressive.

They are good tricks

Check out Penn & Teller's Fool Us, that's full of fun magic, from the common to the few doozies that still have me scratching my head.

WooHoo ... [obviously] that would be ME!

This made me cringe. He doesn't have any original stuff but he's got the balls to do this on the show. The general public doesn't know any better but I don't think this guy is original enough to really make it.

My brother is an actual magic consultant who works designing real, new magic tricks for TV magicians. He would make Ellen's brain melt.
