They stretched a bit to make it 29. "Carry a notebook everywhere." and "Got an idea, write it down." are essentially the same thing. What else is the notebook for but to write stuff down. Does simply having it in your pocket make you more creative?

A lot of good ideas but if I kept them all in mind to try to be creative Id probably become frustrated. I find if I wake up early and drink coffee and leave time between those two activities and whatever else I have going on, creativity ensues.

I agree with most of these but...drink coffee?? If I drink coffee the only creativity resulting from it is the Jackson Pollock-like splatter of my vomit. Ill assume they mean drink stimulating beverage of your choice.

I guess I meant to have an early start but leave space. For me an early start is more than likely going to consist of coffee to wake up and get amped. I find the most daunting and uncreative times in life are when I wake up twenty minutes before work and get into that terrible habit.

You can't get creative by following rules set by others.

21 was "Break the Rules". Thanks, now I know that I can't have success by following the rule "break the rule". Guess I'll have to break the rule!

Either you do it your way or you don't do it at all.

And there it is - that's the first rule I'm going to break. I'm going to do it your way instead of mine. Time to stop following rules set by others! Except yours. But I'm following them transgressively so it's OK.

Well said, and well thought out... I think...

29 is good, but not really applicable to certain personalities. My method of finishing anything is to convince myself that it's almost good enough for now and I'll get back to it later. Normally, the next project will totally consume me and I won't be able to go back, therefore leaving the previous work "finished".

Errr... where in this video does it say these 29 items are rules? It seems to me that the author is merely trying to come up with a list of suggestions, it's you who are trying to follow them as rules.

I was replying to a comment. That text in italics in my post was a quote from another poster. Now, someone else may be thinking "where in this video does it say 'where in this video does it say these 29 items are rules'?" - if so, note...

That text in italics in my post was was a quote from another poster.

...which it is, but the above is not.
