FCKH8 - Cause To Support Gay Marriage

I liked the time (just 10 years ago) when college professors would say that people who use vulgarity are poor communicators. Now you're not taken seriously if you don't use the F-bomb.

Sorry, but seeing kids using vulgarity so liberally is terrible.

Way to go liberals for messing up this world.

Who cares if some goofy pastor wants to burn a book? Look, you can go online and find countless of examples of Islamic extremists burning flags and bibles and whatever else. It's stupid to burn a book, but it's even stupider and petty to let it bother you.
But if you burned an Amazing Fantasy #15 we'd have to talk about that.

Agreed. Christians shouldn't care if you burn the Bible. The Bible teaches we are not to worship anything man made depicting anything on earth OR in heaven (this is the 2nd commandment). The words of the Bible are sacred. But the physical copy of the Bible is a mere book made by man. It is not a religious icon.

This pastor should be allowed to burn whatever he wants. It is free speech. It bothers me that Obama stepped in the middle of this. The guy seems like a wacko anyways. He can't even spell Quran correctly.

Who cares about burning the Quran... the equally weirdo Muslims that can't tolerate criticisms of their religion. Remember the death threats for the artist depicting the prophet Mohamed in cartoons? Why is it necessary for the US State dept. to issue a travel warning over this incident? If Islam is such a religion of peace then why is it necessary? Why the many death threats against an artist? Oh wait...

And to be clear. The city planners are not objecting to the Mosque in principle (although there are probably some people that are), they just want it somewhere else. I tend to agree with this. For a city the size of NY, the location can be moved a few blocks and it becomes a mute point.

And watch for religious nuts to spin cancer into divine intervention in 3-2-1-GO!

Blessings happen to both good and bad people. Tragedy happens to both good and bad people. Death and disease is due to a cursed world. Thus both good and bad people will suffer and die.

Anyone claiming it was divine intervention is boasting where they shouldn't be.

People find strength through religion, and I think that's fantastic due to the fact that it motivates people to go beyond what they think they can accomplish. I have no problem with religion! Just, please, don't ever, EVER, impose your views onto someone else.
My biggest problem with religion is its imposition on others. People have the right to choose what they believe in for themselves.

I agree with you. I don't share my faith with someone unless it would be welcomed. I am not a Bible basher. That is a complete turn off even to me.

The only reason why I chimed in here is because I am tired of people saying religion is a complete waste. Sorry, I completely disagree. This forum is not the place to go into why though.

So to those who disagree with me, how about you simply say, "I don't agree" then mind your own business. I will do the same for you.

maximillian says...

I disagree. Saved Christians are compelled to help as a result of their salvation. Before my salvation I helped people because I wanted to hear people's praises of how good I am. Now I do it because of the love of the Lord. There is a difference because the later is a selfish sacrifice whereas the former is vanity. This selfish attitude is the fruit of a true Christian. Not saying non-Christians don't behave this way. However when faced with adversity and other hardships people's motivations are tested. If I only had earthly motivations then I would falter.

It's videos like this that make me yearn for a religion free world within my lifetime.
Unfortunately, it's not gonna happen.

How about you stop generalizing every religion and every religious person based on the few religious nuts. You do know that there are generally sincere, loving people who are very spiritual that are 1) sane, and 2) want to help people? There's even a few such examples sifted here.

I love the guy at the end. Christians know how to make people who were one color into another, they turned Jesus white thru propaganda!

Please don't generalize all Christians like this. Jesus was Jewish (Israelites). That is one of the biggest qualifications of the Messiah, i.e. to be of the line of David. Therefore he had a Mediterranean pigmentation. He was not black, nor was he white.

In regards to race...

There has been two major dispensations from God. In one he dealt with the Israelites, and everyone else was referred to as Gentiles (Asians, Africans, Whites, Hispanics, Canadians :-) , etc.). The gentiles during the time of the old testament were regarded somewhat (a generalization) as heathens. Then after Jesus came and went everyone (Jews and Gentiles) are dealt pretty much the same. This is an over-generalization but it is generally close enough. During the tribulation period God will once again work only through the Israelites.

And for the white supremists out there... Acts 8 is a passage in the Bible where God specifically cares for a black person. You can read a commentary about it here:

http://www.biblegateway.com/resources/commentaries/IVP-NT/Acts/Philip-Ethiopian-Eunuch

To summarize... Philip is in the middle of a great revival. Many people were being saved. Yet God calls him away so he can go to a desert and witness to a black man, an Ethiopian. Is this not convincing enough to show how God cares for everyone of the world? There is also the passage about the good-samaritan. This passage also refers to race since Samaritans were considered half-breeds (half Jewish and half gentile).

So there is enough Biblical evidence to show that God cares for all people of the world.

This video is about white trash. Don't lump all Christians with them.

My sarcasm creator wasn't turned on high enough on that last part. The point of my comment was not to criticize you for correcting someone, but for the way in which you did it. Patronizing, assuming ignorance for a typo. It's fine to correct, but don't be a dick about it.

My criticism of the OP is that he implied ignorance to Ms. Gorman from this one video without knowing her. Then he makes a simple and obvious error. I pointed this out not because of the simple spelling error but because of the irony of the situation. Apparently there are too many people reading this thread that can't grasp this simple concept.

Personally, go right ahead and criticize me. I don't care because I know the caliber of the typical reader on this site.
