Is funnyordie.com and Metacafe.com blocking no referrers?

Hello.

I usually have my Mozilla's SeaMonkey v1.x Web browser's referrer not to send anything. Recently, I noticed FunnyorDie.com and metacafe.com are blocking embedded videos (no videos show up). Examples: http://www.videosift.com/video/Thomas-Haden-Church-vs-Joe-the-Plumber and http://www.videosift.com/video/Nail-Magic-Trick-Balance-10-Nails-On-1-Nail-Head ... I had to enable referrer to see the videos.

Is anyone else noticing this? Thank you in advance.

did you notice their embed script pulls up about:blank
which makes me think they are also pulling up other junk, unless the about:blank is the embed blocking when no HTTP Referrer is found.

Also, you are not much of a nerd if you have referrers enabled and can't use google to figure out what they are.

Interesting and it sucks. I wished sites would stop tracking us!
