Request for Feedback About an Idea I Have
I have no clue if such a service exists, but I was thinking about an idea for a service that I would probably really like to use, and I was wondering how many other people might be interested in such a service.

Never heard of such a service, sounds interesting..
I've heard of temporary mail addresses but not this.
It would be a service for people who'd like to communicate online with a specific other person/organization - e.g. to test waters (to use a more cautious approach to trust building) - without showing their name.
Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag. (show it anyway)
It's a bit like this one:
https://www.boxbe.com/public-email

Sounds like it would be a very useful service.
Are you moonlighting, Lucky? Tsk-tsk. I dig the idea, Lucky. I'm surprised you aired it in the open like this. I think this is different than the boxbe service Dag linked to above, because the boxbe gives you a temporary email addy that just forwards everything to your real address. I kind of like the idea of not having to log into the "proxy.com": once you create a "proxy.com" account, it's done. Nothing else to do at the site. Makes me wonder how you'd monetize it that way, though.
It would be cool if you could synch it with your email address book, too. I know when I signed up for facebook, it read through my hotmail addresses and added them to my facebook profile page. It even added dag, though he never accepted my friend request. Still, I think syncing with the address book would be great.
Personally it doesn't sound like a service I'd really be into. But I have at least two coworkers who would give their right arms for the service. Our work e-mails are terrible about kicking out spam and spamming friends.

My logic is that our blogs are not often read by "outsiders" and that once I've gotten enough comments I'll mitigate any idea theft.
Don't be surprised if the post vanishes as quickly as it appeared sometime soon. Like now.
Thanks for the feedback folks. I really appreciate it. From Charms' reaction and your few comments I know I'm onto something good!
