Fairbssays...I do appreciate her skepticism, but she gets so worked up about it I think she is a little batty. And if she used her own reasoning on what I believe are her religious beliefs, I think her head would spin off. It' s also brought up that there's lots of information available to explain evolution, but she's not willing to seek it out and this is also why she's not a scientist.
Stormsingersays...She's not a skeptic by any reasonable definition. She's a denier. There's a difference, which you yourself cover. I believe we do everyone a disservice by considering arguments such as she makes to be valid in any way. Let's call a spade a fucking shovel, and avoid some of the (often intentional) confusion.
SquidCapsays...Just like laws of thermodynamics, they still hold even thou at the time, they didn't know exactly how it works... But for her, when a theory is first initiated, it has to have all the evidence before even an ounce of it can be stated as a fact. This is due to religions declaring that they have the ultimate truth, they are infallible, perfect. So if there is 9999 pieces of evidence that all point to one direction, one evidence is enough to denounce it.. You can't use the same logic against her as any mismatches that creationism has with reality is the work of god and as humans can not understand his intentions, you can't disprove it.
nanrodsays...I like the Armored Skeptic's title better, "Nut at the Museum".
