Yasiin Bey (Mos Def) force-fed under standard Gitmo procedur

As Ramadan begins, more than 100 hunger-strikers in Guantánamo Bay continue their protest. More than 40 of them are being force-fed. A leaked document sets out the military instructions, or standard operating procedure, for force-feeding detainees.

In this four-minute film made by Human Rights organisation Reprieve and Bafta award-winning director Asif Kapadia, US actor and rapper Yasiin Bey (formerly known as Mos Def), experiences the procedure. -- Guardian

That head-straps too loose and Mos needs acting lessons-Is he a member of the Film Actor's Guild?

Hunger Strike: Meet my demands or I'll die-It's not so hard to consider for me based solely upon the fare I suspect they serve in prison cafeterias....

Meet my demands or I'll die seems pretty stupid from the outside if their demands were say Let me Go. Their demands aren't that though, they're demanding basic human rights, to be treated like international law and the treaties we've signed require. There's a reason why Gitmo is located on Cuba, and it's not for the beaches. It's because if they were on American soil it would be easier to do something about this.

The use of the garb, camera focus, camera angles, etc was distracting and called attention to itself as a film PRODUCTION.
Would have been more powerful if he simply described the sensation in straight up documentary form as it was happening rather than the whimpering and crying which came off as scripted.

This seems dumb. Not just the clearly scripted video but the apparent shock at what happens when you're a prisoner threatening to commit suicide (by starvation). Of course force-feeding is unpleasant. That's what happens when you're a prisoner and you refuse to eat. Don't want to be force-fed? Then eat. Don't want to be a prisoner? Then don't join groups that are internationally recognized as terrorists. And no, I seriously doubt that the majority of prisoners in Gitmo are innocent.

The benefits of ignorance, eh? If you can't make the minimal effort to educate yourself, then I certain won't waste any time on you.

Is there any evidence that casues you to believe that the majority of the prisoners in Gitmo are not innocent or is it just a "feeling".

I won't speculate on how many are innocent or not. I do know that many are there unlawfully. The place is a dungeon.

And people seriously ask themselves why Snowden GTFO of this country as fast as he could.
What a farce.
Just make your laws like you need em...

More like a reasonable assumption. I'm pretty sure the government wouldn't waste their time and money just grabbing random civilians and putting them in prison. It's a far more reasonable assumption that most of the prisoners have ties to terrorist groups.

Of course, I could be completely wrong, as another poster has suggested. I'd love to hear his argument but it seems he can't be bothered.

@ Kofi-My comment came from a place of personal contention regarding the effectiveness of a hunger strike-suppose there have been a few that have affected some drastic change-How does one call attention to the plight of the unfortunate.....in a Cuban dungeon??? Gotta be a better way-throw doo-doo at the guards, swallow your own tongue, act crazier than your torturers...(got a hundred of these, just kill me already!)
