choggiesays...Oh I just can't imagine the shitstorm of engaging and productive discourse.....
ultimateforcesays...When I read the part about the US giving money to Africa I had to pause the video. We only give money to Africa for AIDS funds if they only teach abstinence only.

&spell=1
I am sure the rest of the video is full of shit too.
choggiesays.......bit reactionary there- "but only give money if they only, only...I'm sure the rest of your grammer is.....
but seriously, to take no sides here, as I plan to do in 2006,...Tell me this please.
How can someone who reacts to an issue by shutting ones eyes and ears and screaming as loud as they can be taken seriosly?? That's incredibly infantile and shows the mettle...
pass.the.grog.says...I predict it won't make it out of the queue. shroomy's rarely do...
theo47says...Man, it has got to suck being a Republican.
bamdrewsays...no kidding, theo
what about Iraq getting closer to civil war? what about torture? what about secret prisons? what about the jurisdiction-less prisoners? what about the rest of the world thinking we're the bad guys now? what about white house lawyers who are instructed to make the laws for a war time president instead of white house lawyers who are asked "what actions are within the law"? what about secret wiretapping of US citizens? what about the governmental staff who have quit in protest of this administrations negligence? what about the comments made against homosexuality, against evolutionary biology, against questioning the actions of a war time president? what about the promises made to our military men and women, who are stuck in that rotten desert for months and months after their scheduled departure dates, and are now being re-re-redeployed just in time for Christmas?
This stuff has a very real effect on my life. I have friends in Iraq. I'm also a science researcher who is working harder for less government funding (NSA, NIH). I also grew up poor, and have no trouble noticing how little this administration has done for the poor and how ridiculously they've handled what is amounting to a crisis in education system funding.
Farhad2000says...I think nothing made me laugh more then the deficit numbers, that's such an act of Pavlovian number picking.
And all you need to do is click politics and you'd find a mountain of information that disproves any notion of faith in the repbulican party (and am not counting the TDS, Olbermann and other investigative clips).
I wonder at the amount of indoctrination Quantummushroom underwent.
zeth_rbsays...Lol, wow I notice anything pro-republican gets downvoted on principle. The other sides propaganda cannnot be heard everything the left says must be true. I like taking what now is the minority side. Nothing in that video is any less true than what is stated in Farenheit 9-11.
Oh, abstinence is the cheapest form of preventing unwanted pregnencies or transferring STD's, I don't see the problem thats how it works in any government program if you want the money have to do it the way they say.
Third Party
James Roesays..."wow I notice anything pro-republican gets downvoted on principle."
Heh, I have also seen this policy at work from many sifters. I like to vote them up though as I frequently enjoy the debates that develop. Here's hoping this one gets saved.
quantumushroomsays...To my loyal detractors and others:
You can argue opinions but you can't argue facts.
Liberals rarely have factual evidence on their side.
The "fact" that conservative/righty vids rarely make it out of the queue is evidence the only way liberals can win an argument is by screaming loudly or silencing the opposition.
On the matter of Iraq: no one on this site, myself included, knows the other half of the story. The liberal-run American drive-by media isn't interested in reporting any American successes in Iraq; back in the day similar sabotage was done via Kronkite's treasonous Vietnam War coverage.
If you're so inclined, I invite you to read this, about how the enemy, not the US, is getting their asses kicked.
http://www.nypost.com/seven/10292006/postopinion/opedcolumnists/the_enemy_fails_opedcolumnists_amir_taheri.htm
Lefties on Videosift seem to compose a majority.
That's not because their ideas and opinions are better, but because they were here first. Big quackin' deal.
wallacesays...This is the first conservative video I've seen posted in my short time here. I was beginning to think you guys were closed minded or something. At last, a different political voice. One note gets so boring.
therealblankmansays...Wow, what a badly constructed, un-entertaining piece of crap video. Upvote for shroomy's whining.
Farhad2000says...Clearly quantumushroom is a politically genius, through quoting the New York Post he has defeated all our arguments. The New York Post, owned by Rupert Murdoch, a stuanch supporter of the republican party (the man loves Reagen so much he forced FOX News to cover his incidental birthdays).
Never mind that Murdoch's Post has been criticized from the beginning for its lurid headlines, sensationalism, and blatant advocacy. Nor that according to a survey conducted by Pace University in 2004, the New York Post was rated the least credible major news outlet in New York, and the only news outlet to receive more responses calling it "not credible" than credible.
Never mind the fact that the story is written by the always unreliable Amir Taheri, who in 2005/2006 has faced charges of fabricating and falsifying stories. Never mind that Amir Taheri actually works for the Benador Associates which is a public relations firm and speaker's bureau that promotes expert writers and speakers focusing primarily on U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East, particularly those from a neoconservative point of view.

Now for Economics part of this part which besides all the BS is the one I want people to understand fully and see beyond the actual lie, because this is a bipartisan issue and will affect you, your kids and your grandkids. The video states that the '$260 Billion dollar budget deficit represents 2% of our 13 Trillion dollar economy'. Now unless you just believe what you see, you will see that number looks awfully small, because in reality that doesn't count the GROSS FEDERAL DEBT which stands currently at more than $8.5 trillion.
According to David M. Walker, head of Government Accountability Office, an investigative arm of Congress that audits and evaluates the performance of the federal government. He along with Diane Lim Rogers, a liberal economist from the Brookings Institution, and Alison Acosta Fraser, director of the Roe Institute for Economic Policy Studies at the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank say that their basic message is this: If the United States government conducts business as usual over the next few decades, a national debt that is $8.5 trillion could reach $46 trillion or more, adjusted for inflation. This is because we spend nearly a billion dollars a day in Iraq, and the first baby boomers become eligible for Social Security in 2008 and for Medicare in 2011, the expenses of those two programs are about to increase drastically because of demographic pressures.
More information and a live clock of US Debt is avialble here at http://www.brillig.com/
Gervaisesays...I wanted to stay out of this, but I guess I can't resist.
The Leftie bashing by QM amuses me because the reality is many true conservatives are abandoning the Republicans and want to punish them this election. This administration has been anything but conservative. Massive amounts of pork, eroding freedoms, disturbing religious ties, interference in personal issues (Terry Schiavo), the corruption, torture and I didn't even mention the bungled war in Iraq.
Here's an example of a good blog of a real conservative, who fully supported the Iraq war at the beginning, but has become disillusioned. http://www.balloon-juice.com/ That's just one example. There are many more.
It's easy to paint detractors as crazy lefties when even conservatives and long time supporters are feeling betrayed.
joedirtsays...As I have pointed out to 'Shroomy before. The community here is not fourteen year old boys, unlike 'Shroomys usual forums. Most people around here are very educated, even with advanced degrees, and very well spoken. So to all the wingnuts it appears that there are unfair liberal enclaves in the world, like "the media". Sadly, reality does have a liberal bias because smart people realize Iraq is a mess, there is no islamo-fascist boogie man worth throwing away your freedoms, rights, or Constitution.
The media has a corporate bias period. To that end the majority of Americans are liberals (see House makeup over last 40 years). Most Americans want good jobs, living wages, health care, consumer rights, ability to declare bankruptcy, fiscal responsibility in gov't, and not to see their sons and daughters die in senseless war to establish a new Iran in the name of oil pipelines.
Fact, this Administration has expanded gov't and the increased the debt more than anyone since FDR. Fact, this do-nothing Congress has rubber stamped Bush's insane policies and pissed all over the Constitution.
'Shroomy you hate facts. You have never once reponded to any facts presented to you on VS, and you never will listen to anything but 'facts' that support your ideas. Show me a fact you have posted on here. One link to NY Post article is hardly a start. Wow, so you are saying our soldiers with $20 million a day in Iraq are killing people?! Good job. What does winning in Iraq mean? It simply means that Iraq wasn't as BIG of a mistake as it is now. It still was a mistake.
joedirtsays...farhad, those aren't facts, those are moonbat opinions.
joedirtsays..."On the matter of Iraq: no one on this site, myself included, knows the other half of the story." - 'Shroomy
Oh, the world is so unknowable. I'll bet no one reads anything on the internets. And if they do, it's probably liberal media biased. 'Shroomy, you mean you have not spoken to anyone who has come back from Iraq? I've spoken with soldiers back on leave, I've spoken with Iraqis who tried to return to Iraq post-2003 and have returned to US in disgust and horror of what is going on over there. There are millions (probably 2-3 million) refugees and displaced Iraqis. Let alone how many people, including good Americans that have died.
deathcowsays...> I'll bet no one reads anything on the internets.
They have Internets for computers now?
Farhad2000says...Well that's not true QM, I was in Kuwait finishing graduating from AP when the war was taking place. It was funny to live in Kuwait City have the occasional siren go off, and have nothing happen, mostly following the routine of your usual life. And watch CNN and FOX at night, and see them make it seem like it's World War 3 in their offices in Kuwait.
zeth_rbsays...New York Times---New York Post
Left-------------------------------------Right
Farhad2000says...No one mentioned the New York Times here though...
pass.the.grog.says...haha. the shroom thinks there is a liberal conspiracy against him. Let the paranoia suck you down my friend...
it's an actual democracy, not a conspiracy. The masses have spoken - you couldn't drum up enough support on this site to get a video out of the line, so go somewhere else. It's not like your views are being silenced. Videosift isn't the only website. In fact, there are millions upon millions of them - many of them espousing the same insane views you have!
you gots to love the internet and the freedom that comes with it.
siftbotsays...Discarding because this post has less than 3 votes in its first 48 hours in the queue.
pass.the.grog.says...awwwwwwww....
