sixshotsays...Is there a level above awesome? Because I think this surpassed it by a long shot.
Sagemindsays...Dear Lego, Consumer Services.
From the day I saw it on the shelf I've wanted the Star Wars Jabba's Palace Lego set. It looks relay cool and it comes with a Lego Jabba, the only set that does. It is my dream to own this set but my wife says, "Not in this lifetime are we spending $150 on a Lego set." (only she used some colourful metaphors.) My dreams have been crushed. If you can think of a way that I might be able to acquire one of these (perhaps from corporate headquarters), I would be happy to listen to your suggestions.
Sincerely, A lifelong Lego and Star Wars Fan,
Sagemind

probiesays...When I was 10 years old, I played with Star Wars figures. At some point, I lost two of the guns for two of the characters. So I wrote Kenner, the maker of the the Star Wars figures at the time, wondering if there was some way I could get just those two guns.
A few weeks later, I received a padded envelope in the mail. Someone at Kenner had received my letter, gone down to the supply area and hand scooped parts and accessories from the line. Not only did I get the two guns I was missing, but at least 8-10 dupes, 1-2 copies of every other type of gun, replacement plastic capes for Darth Vader, Obi Wan, Bespin Leia, the newer cloth capes, Yoda's plastic snake and walking stick, in-arm lightsabers, hand grip lightsabers, you name it, it was in that padded envelope - including stuff for figures I didn't even own.
Someone took five minutes out of their day and it made my year. I've never forgotten that lesson.
Hive13says...My eyes are leaking awesome again.
ChaosEnginesays...What the hell? Your wife is mean!
Start a kickstarter. I will pledge $10.

ChaosEnginesays...Yeah, I did the same. When I was "10", yeah, definitely not into my 30s.
When I was 10 years old, I played with Star Wars figures.
Babymechsays...Autistic kids have white people problems.
Auger8says...This is how you run a business a lot of corporations seem to forget that their customers are all people too not just piles of money. With this one act of kindness they have created a life long fan of Lego someone who won't just continue to buy their products but someone who will tell others about how Lego saw and read his request and helped him in his time of need. This should be a lesson to all businesses world wide on the right way to approach Customer Service.
Sagemindsays...That's how you build a friendship man

Ferazelsays...Yay! I like corporate generosity!
youdiejoesays...A few years ago my son found this older Jabba's Palace set (#4480) at a thrift shop for next to nothing, I see that it's now worth 300 bucks! Keep reaching for the stars!

Paybacksays...While I'm impressed Lego Corp. did this with no intention of it becoming the viral PR bonanza it is, I would like to point out this is the same company that was perfectly willing to charge him over $100 for $0.25 worth of plastic to begin with...
FlowersInHisHairsays...Yay! This made me happy. I have an Emerald Night set myself, and I can confirm that it is indeed awesome.
