chingalerasays.....then they go dump it into rivers an pollute 'em with frozen water!
articiansays...Humans can be so damn intelligent when they try...
critical_dsays...Canadians are awesome!
deathcowsays...We're faced with the same issue up here in Alaska. Instead of blowing it into trucks though we shoot it on a parabolic trajectory that lands it somewhere in Canada.
Paybackjokingly says...Please... get real... where do you think your Slushees come from?
We export more snowcones than oil.

siftbotsays...Promoting this video back to the front page; last published Sunday, December 30th, 2012 4:55pm PST - promote requested by deathcow.
Retroboysays...Canadian New Brunswicker here. I see this so often in these parts in winter that it surprised me that it's considered a siftable thing.
Sagemindsays...Nothing new, That's how we always clear our snow when there's no where left to push it aside. Standard practice in most Canadian Cities and towns.
Sagemindsays...In several towns they have huge acreages where they dump the snow - which is the best place for those guys with metal detectors to spend hours for their entertainment in the summer, after it all melts.
Draxsays...How'd they make the first lane..?
shogunkaisays...They get a plow to push it to one side of the street.

Tokokisays...Wow...Top 3, sometimes, I don't get you Sifters ;-)
(I'm from Montreal - that video is almost like someone in LA with a video of a nice park showing how nice the weather is - absolutely nothing to get excited about)
raviolisays...We need bigger trucks!
silvercordsays...I'm sure glad the dude on the sidewalk didn't slip.
Drachen_Jagersays...Hmm, well in Western Canada we have a different approach. In Calgary they just ignore it, and here in Vancouver we just huddle up in our warm jammies sipping cocoa until it goes away.

Sagemindsays...I 'am' from Western Canada.
In Kelowna, they use this method to clear all the snow from the downtown areas. I've also seen this method used in Kamloops, Quesnel and as for north as Prince George. I also know for a fact that this method is used in the Lower mainland (aka Vancouver) in many areas.
I know snow melts fast right downtown Vancouver, but in the outlaying areas and on the hills where snow doesn't melt so fast, this is the best choice in snow removal since they can't just push the snow up on sidewalks in downtown areas.

Drachen_Jagersays...They were talking about 'cities'.
Maybe you could argue PG or Kamloops, but Quesnel?
Also, just in case you missed it, that was humour. I don't even wear jammies, I sleep nekkid.

Sagemindsays...lol, I know, I recognized it as humor. It's all good.
Sorry, it wasn't your comments that got me talking so much as the topic.
Sorry if I came off abrasive in any way
I've lived in Quesnel for quite a few years as well as Vancouver, My wife lived in Kamloops as do several of my friends. Surprisingly, yes, even Quesnel, trucks it's snow out of the downtown core, (smallish town that it is.) They get a lot of snow there which stays and builds up all winter, trucking it out is the only way to remove it from city streets without plowing it up onto the downtown sidewalks
cheers
