What We Still Don't Know: Are We Real? (more links inside!)

benjeesays...

This is one of my favourite documentaries of all time, What We Still Don't Know: Are We Real?

There is a fundamental chasm in our understanding of ourselves, the universe, and everything. To solve this, Sir Martin takes us on a mind-boggling journey through multiple universes to post-biological life. On the way we learn of the disturbing possibility that we could be the product of someone else’s experiment.
I originally had this published back here on the Sift - but I believe it was wrongly discarded (if any Gold feels the opposite, please blog it instead of discard - as I feel it would need discussion with all the other multi-part documentaries on the Sift).

Here's the previous two parts to this:
What We Still Don't Know: Are We Alone?
What We Still Don't Know: Why Are We Here?

Apologies Sifters...I've changed the Sift link to a 'Worldwide' available one - Farhads comment that "this video is region locked to the US" suggested that it was viewable in the US only - which I obviously knew to be false! (I wouldn't describe a Region 1 encoded DVD as locked to the UK!)

Sorry again (and thanks for the warning FireFly!)

Please he totally stole that bit from Douglas Adams...

lol yes. But this isn't the first time science has taken its ideas from fiction and had its consciousness raised. Look at the advances that came out of Star Trek - the mobile phone, for one.
