Volvo crash - amazing in-car camera mount

From YouTube:
A TV crew going back home to Warsaw (road 801) in a Volvo V40, near the town of Dziecinów, was blocked by a green Seat Ibiza which suddenly drove out feeding road 805. To avoid direct hit, the driver changed the driving lane. To avoid another direct hit with a vehicle coming from the opposite site he changed it back. Our car slid, which resulted in a roll, falling to a ditch.

good advertisement for seat belts. The only reason why I wear mine isn't to prevent death, rather to prevent serious maiming. I'm more afraid of being dismembered and/or paralyzed than death

*knocks on wood*

...now if only I could afford a volvo

Number one rule when something unexpected happens, try not to freak out. built in human response usually causes things to be worse than they need to be.

Try to stay as calm as possible, believe me that is a hard thing to do.

Yeah, how the hell is this EIA? Who knows if he could have handled the situation better, but he was purely trying to avoid a crash, how that is EIA I don't know.

Also, they're driving a Volvo for god's sake, they're the least EIA car there is.

Owned by Ford, yes. Still engineered and built in Sweden though. I'm a two-time Volvo owner (An old 240GL in high school and an beautiful S60 now) and they are as safe as they have ever been. Then only difference now is that they are a hell of a lot better looking.

If that's not an arguement to wear one's seat belt, nothing else is. That 'Crunch' you ear, would have been his body falling on his neck and killing him.

Unfortunately, with wrecks, people are disoriented, stun, and in shock. They get out, walk around, and generally can not do anything useful. They walk in to traffic, mill about, can not be coherent on a phone with the 9/11 operator.

If your a motorists and you see this happen, get the person to sit down, out of harms way. check for any physical injuries (something metal sticking in them). Call the police or paramedics.

Cars can be fixed and replaced easily, people....its a harder process.
