Juliana Wetmore's extreme case brought a rare syndrome to the attention of the public.

I won't lie. Often times I watch vids like this for the same reason most do, whether they like to admit it or not. It's that little part of us that everyone has that is fascinated by the unusual. This is putting it mildly.

This video however... this only makes me sad. I teared up. All I can say is, I desperately hope they're getting financial assistance for the medical bills and that those doctors can somehow eventually give her a shot at... well maybe not a normal life. But a life at least.

Mind explaining the Religion label?

For many people, Juliana's story has a strong spiritual side to it, and that seems to help her parents get through things. I've removed the religion channel, though, in case it's controversial.

I maybe would have gone with euthanasia at birth. I mean without all this medical intervention she couldn't even eat or breathe. Now that she's a little girl though, it's best to do all that can be done. Operation after operation after operation... So sad

seriously, wouldn't you rather be dead?

I think one's strategic perspective doesn't have to change in a situation like this. Her brain is normal, in contrast to an individual like this. Work hard/smart, contribute to society and the economy... people will want to help you. Eventually, regenerative medicine (stem cells) will be able to make her pretty.
