Hilarious. Reminds me a bit of You Suck at Photoshop.
rychansays...That was fantastic. Serious nerd appeal. I've been on the other side of this (the person giving the talk, the person bugging IT people) frequently, and kind of wondered what it's like from the other side.
edit: this video holds up well to repeat viewings -- check out what the web pages say.

It's not real stuff, it's a parody of real stuff. But it's damn funny.
This guy is like a combination of two guys that I worked with in IT. One of them had the attitude, the other had the ability to do all the remote manipulation. He was once able to convince somebody we were back from lunch by rebooting malfunctioning servers through his Blackberry.
Deanosays...Big LOL here with the fake virus attack suggestion. And then remotely shutting everyone's systems done.
poolcleanersays...Holy shit, he was playing Net Hack! Rad.
jubuttibsays...This... This reminds me of my days in tech support. Though I was only a temp so I didn't get to do all that remote manipulation, but the... let's say "customers" brought up horrible memories. That reminds me, I still have generic admin passes on every computer over there and my own admin account is still probably valid...
Also, loved the "fake a virus attack". Classic.
