Brilliant! I've always wondered myself...who is this Tso guy, and why is a general cooking us chicken? The best military chicken cooker we have produced from America was a colonel. Time for us to step it up...but is President Obama Chicken racist?

I don't know anything about General Tso, but I know fair bit about Colonel Sanders...

I always believed he was a Formosan general in the early Cold War years, respected by mid 20th century Chinese immigrants for fighting against the communists in the Chinese Civil War. This is probably another one of the myths I've lived my life with because I randomly asked my dad a question and, not knowing, he just made up an answer.

Of course, now that I think about it, Daldain surely nailed it with the relationship to The Colonel, rather like Admiral Nelson's rum is to Captain Morgan's.

Must be an American thing. I've dined at Chinese restaurants from Halifax to Victoria and never seen General Tso on any menu.
