Meh, that was a rather uncompelling video. I would have liked to see the statistics on how many embryos ARE used, or why those embryos are being thrown out. They could have bucked up and actually made a very educational short video but instead just said "Look, this guy is throwing a vial away...that vial could do something good"

Anliz, I think that by not dramatizing it they are making a solid point. This is an everyday occurrence, and something so quotidian that it's insulting it has even become a moral debate.

Although his spelling is (he would admit) atrocious - if you close your eyes, his posts are actually well thought out and intelligent. I think this is a case of the VS intellgencia being able to look past the surface and embrace the meaning. Go Westy!

If you're on the right, it was a human life. If you're on the left, it was a precious resource that could potentially save lives. I would like to know too why they would just toss these embryos out like that. Folks on both sides would agree that they are too valuable.

swampgirl, they throw them out because they have tons of them. When a woman goes to a fertility clinic for whatever reasons they often fertilize many eggs. Storage requires constant exposure to liquid nitrogen so it is often not financially viable. So they end up destroying them because no body wants to pick up the tab, on the right or the left.

This is lame PSA. What is funny is that all these yuppies with their fertility treatments cause they are having babies at 45 yrs old and protest down at the abortion clinics on the weekend types,

they usually implant quite a few embryos to make sure one of them takes. No one is concerned about that. Shouldn't they do them one at a time, so they don't waste any human lives?

One would think if he/she is pro-life, then making embryos in the first place would be wrong given the fact that they might not survive.
